I mean, I get that in fandom a lot of people get off on assault-y dynamics in fanfic, and I'm totally cool with that. I like "problematic" things, too. But how on earth can you blame people for hating toxic/unhealthy pairings in canon?

I stopped watching after Rachel's pregnancy scare in college and I still don't understand how anyone thought this relationship was anything but toxic.

Kurtofsky triggers my "hell no" button since the idea of shipping a bully with his victim creeps me out and makes me really uncomfortable. I don't like Sansa/Hound, but it doesn't elicit nearly the same reaction out of me.

Kurtofsky got hate and was considered unhealthy because of the fact that Karofsky was a bully to Kurt for 90% of his screen time and got creepily sexual in nature during the last part of that bullying until his badly done "redemption" (which isn't I guess so much of a fault of that character as it is that Glee's writers are absolutely fucking awful at writing any character development. Karofsky would have been a lot more sympathetic if it weren't for that super creepy sexual component to his harassment before Kurt ran to Dalton). Even so the two of them managed to remain civil in the end and were about the same age.

Sandor/Sansa barely fits any of that. She's a child and he's a grown man, there's an even worse power imbalance, etc.

I have nothing against SanSan. It's pretty fucking heavily implied in the books, so it's kind of canon honestly.

I like both of them. I LOVE Kurtofsky and was disappointed that it never came to pass. I would have been even happier to see Blainofsky because I hate hate hate Kurt (he's a god damn stereotype.)

And I ship practically everyone with The Hound. He's a good man with a tough exterior and I think he deserves love. I currently ship him with Brienne since they would have the most awesome, bad ass children. However, both Stark girls could also be a good match for him, despite the age gap. My ship for him with Arya, however, is more of a father/daughter thing that maybe turns to romance when she's older or becomes a one sided thing that breaks his heart but he never betrays in order to be a proper and beloved grandpa to Arya's bad ass children.

I'm in it for the bad ass children. They're bad ass.

I ship both SanSan and Kurtofsky shamelessly because they both hit my Beauty and the Beast --> redemption kinks long and hard.

I get why other people don't like them and have no problem with that. I just wish they'd leave the shippers alone to write our porn. We're not hurting anyone!!!11

Interesting. I'm a fan of both, and I AM pretty confused by the hate they get, but I think the hate for Kurtofsky confuses me more. Like, for Sansa and Sandor, she's a child; he's an adult who has killed innocent children and is an alcoholic. I can see why the idea of shipping the two would make people uncomfortable and why people would find that "never okay" even given a good redemption/maturity arc for Sandor. But for Kurtofsky, Karofsky bullied Kurt, but he had sympathetic reasons for doing so -- he clearly had issues that he was working through.

I guess they do both share the quality that I really root for Sandor/Karofsky and want them to become the better people that they want to be, and that's why I like their characters and their relationships. It does get very frustrating when people tear down them and their ability to be in a relationship based on the lowest things they've done.

It's taken me a very long time to come to terms with my sexuality because I was raised in a household where my parents think gay folks are wrong/sick, my mother outright told me she wouldn't approve of me marrying anyone but a man once when I was a kid. I never took it out on any of the out kids I knew in HS.
