what's the last movie you've seen? would you recommend it?

[personal profile] rubbertea 2014-06-25 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
last movie i watched is peter jackson's king kong. it was my first king kong movie so i can't compare it with the others.

it wasn't deep or intellectual, but it was pretty entertaining. nice cast, nice cgi, a few 'wow that's pretty awesome' moments. tbh i'm happy i saw it just for the king kong/t-rex fight. that was badass.

would recommend it if you like action movies with nice effects and big-ass monsters.

Scarily enough, Cap 2. For somone that don't give fuck about MCU, it was a damn good movie.
How I hope my local cinema plays HTTYD2 instead of Mrs Brown's Boys movie.

Captain America 2 and yes. But a movie that everyone has not seen would be The Conjuring. One of the best horror films I have ever seen. I highly recommend it if you like scary movies.

Prince Caspian.

Ben Barnes is cute. I wanted to smack the character a couple of times, but he was cute. And there were pretty dresses and cool battle scenes, so I'm happy.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 in the theater. And yes, absolutely.

Fellowship of the Ring last night and still absolutely.

Godzilla - and no, it actually disappointed me despite the good IMDB rating.

i was a bit disappointed as well. they kept telling us bryan cranston was the hero of the movie only to have him die halfway through :( also, the fight scenes could have been longer. it felt like the movie was all build up and little reward.

X-Men, Days of Future Past

Not astounding, but fun.

Edge of Tomorrow, and yes I would recommend it! It was a cracking good bit of scifi, Tom Cruise got the shit kicked out of him (the female lead shot him in the head at LEAST a hundred times as well), and I always love a good time-loop episode.

Last movie I watched was The Lego Movie. It was cute, but WAY overhyped.

In theaters? X-Men: Days of Future Past. And yes, I would recommned it if you in any way enjoy X-Men. It isn't a perfect film, but it DOES have an excellent cast (who give some outstanding performances; especially McAvoy) and is an entertaining film. (It's also one of the more solid X-Men films, so there's that.)

Oh, and outside theaters...uh, I think The Architect? (Might be wrong, but that's the one I remember.) And no. No, don't do it, no matter how beautiful Sebastian Stan looks in it. His wonderful face and lovely tears aren't even enough to make this film watchable.

while i don't know shit about x-men aside from what i learned from the movies, i'm pretty curious about this one because i've heard a lof of nice things about it. and, well, it can't be worse than the last stand anyway.

Grace of Monaco and I wouldn't recommend it. It looked good, but that's about it. Some reviewer called it an overlong Chanel commercial, which was an accurate description.

I just watched R.I.P.D.

Predictable, and I'd never buy it, but not bad for a rental. It felt kind of like Men In Black's less talented cousin.

I watched Alien. This has to be like my 20th viewing, though it's the first time in a while I've seen the theatrical cut -- I usually watch the director's cut and I have to say the theatrical cut is better.

It's an all-time classic, redefined sci-horror, and it's so weird seeing people like Sigourney Weaver and Yaphet Kotto so young.

How to Train Your Dragon 2, and yes, I would recommend it. The animation;s great and aside from, oh, about fifteen minutes, it's a lot of fun.

Godzilla, and no. Not if you actually want to see a movie about Godzilla, or a decent monster movie at all tbh. It was such a shame because I was actually hopeful for it as well. *sigh*
pantswarrior: Uhura holds her own even in mirrorverse. (fierce)

...Had to think for awhile, since I don't really watch movies very often. I think the last one I watched was Mulan, a couple months ago. Finally.

Basically it made me go "...Well. Now I have an answer next time someone asks me who my favorite of the Disney Princesses is." So I guess that's a recommendation.

How to Train Your Dragon 2. Recommendation: 100%!! (though I may be biased because of my fanboyish-ness for it).

Yes, it was really entertaining and really good (despite some plotholes)

Underworld: Awakening. No. Do not watch it, it's terrible. It's only good for the vampire vs werewolf fight scenes and the ridiculous plot twists. (Like any other Underworld movie.) Shortly before that I watched Aeon Flux, do not watch that either. I have been on a terrible movie binge because it's all that's on the DVR.

The last movie that was new to me that I saw was Pacific Rim, and there's been enough said about it the past few days here. I liked it though. Giant robots punching monsters, exactly as advertised.
