F!S Anon Meme (the Tenth?)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it!

List of General Threads (for easy access!)
a. Vid Rec thread
b. Positivity thread
c. What do you think of other F!S members?
d. Best Comments thread
e. Canceled Shows thread
f. Confessions thread
g. TMI thread
h. Which fictional character would you be...
i. "Is this offensive?"
j. In the good ol' days of fandom...
k. Popular fanfic you don't like
l. Really weird things you read in fanfics

The secrets thread for lurkers,

... who for some reason can't make secrets the traditional way but still want to let something out.
Because this anon only has access to the internet through school computers and therefore can't make picture secrets.

Ok, so op's secret is that the reason I don't like trans headcanons is because my boyfriend just came out as trans and I am dealing with it badly.

Also, I like pissing off sjw's on the internet because those people are my real life friends and I can't say anything I want to say to them for fear of being socially exiled.

...Are you sure you want to be friends with them, anon?..

I just want to hug you, anon. I dated someone who was, well, some degree of trans (I met him as a boy who crossdressed, but there was more to it).

Anyway, loved them to bits but it's why the relationship failed in the end.

Funny think is, they still haven't transitioned 7 years down the line. I think maybe it's a form of genderqueer, and there's some flip-flopping, but the uncertainty in the relationship became unbearable to me.

As someone who is online/offline friends with a SJW, you might want to look at getting more friends. Not as in "dump the ones I have", but just expand a bit. From experience it can be very stressful dealing with that kind of NEVER OFFEND ANYONE, CARE ABOUT ALL CAUSES EQUALLY AND AT THE SAME TIME mindset 24/7.

Different groups of friends might help you let off some steam. Not in terms of "let's bitch about my sjw friends behind their back", but in just being around different people and not having that be a central focus and/or hidden iceberg of wank/"what you just said was problematic."

I, too, had a hard time dealing with a loved one's transgender journey. (If that's an okay way to put it.) I wanted to support them, but in the end, being 100% cis, I just don't think I was capable of giving them the real understanding they needed. They didn't just need support, they needed someone who could guide them through that process.

Good news, this person has found another couple of folks who can do that for them, and we occasionally still talk about things they are working through.

I'm just too lazy to make it a secret, so here:

WHY DO FANARTISTS DRAW THE HAIR ON BAGGINS' FEET ON TOP OF EACH FOOT RATHER THAN ALL OVER IT?? that does bugger all to protect him from the cold, oh my god

I suspect it's because really hairy feet aren't considered pretty, and it makes me even madder.

I hated Steven Cortez's romantic subplot from Mass Effect 3. I liked him as the pilot before missions, and I loved his little back and forths between in the shuttle bay, but when it comes to his dead husband, I just really couldn't care. I think what I really didn't like about it was that, to me at least, it felt like the writers were trying to make us remember that, yes, Cortez is gay, which is weird cause I didn't have that problem with Traynor at all (then again, I was doing my male shep run, and I never got around to my fem!shep run so it might be different). I also just don't like when characters get as emotional and stuck on something the way Cortez does. I would also add that S!B I think if I tell people this they will think I'm homophobic.

it bugs me that so many college AUs are about lit or history undergrads in american universities, but whenever I read one that's more realistic or close to my own experience I stop reading almost immediately
