I'm sorry you feel that way. It's not black and white. There are some great, funny, hella awesome manly men in fandom out there and its too bad that you have to make generalizations about them and their fans. And not all bishounen need to be rescued from their angst.

I want Torchwood character development D: ...Tosh should also be paired with Martha. I would love that pairing.

...If this has anything to do with my secret a couple of posts ago I'd like to point out that my love for the funny guys and uncomprehension of the bishie love has nothing to do with rescues. :-?

I just don't see the appeal in a guy who you can't have a conversation with. Nothing to do wth body shape and everything to do with the bishie stereotype of pretty but cold. I like a guy I can talk to and not one so caught up in his own head he'd destroy the world over it if we're talking Sephiroth. :-\

(Besides you can rescue a funny guy as easily as a bishie. Possibly more so. Funny guys don't have nearly so much ego. :-D)

In my opinion, Breath of Fire III is one of the best RPGs ever. The BoF series is GREAT. Fabulous music, graphics, or even TRANSLATION? Notsomuch.

But I LOVE the stories. And that's what's important to me.

Wait, so wtf, only girly/feminine guys = interesting personalities? I mean, I'm all for everyone having their own tastes and everything, but to think the only reason that people like masculine characters is because they want to be "rescued" is kind of weird, considering some of us like the characters as characters and not as people that we want to see ourselves with romantically. The fact that you can only see character-liking in that kind of context is pretty worrying in and of itself. :/

13. What I hate about those books is now that I've started reading them I can't stop. I hate all of the main characters except for the cute little vampire family, they are cute and funny, but the vampire hero, human heroine who wants to be a vampire, and the other super jealous macho werewolf love interest are all so angsty and annoying I want them all to go away and shut up and I almost want to skip to the parts about the cute vampire family.

2. AUGH YES FUCKING--

I want to play it too, just so I can judge it fairly on all aspects (pretty sure I'll still hate it, but I want to hate it fairly - even the guilty deserve a fair trial :P), but I'm still at a loss as to how I can do that without giving Capcom money for it. What they did to the characters and story is unforgivable. You don't just rape your story's major themes like that and cut out vital bits in order to make an OOC plot twist work. >/ fail.

6. Th-this reminds me of someone I used to know, and her OC that I adored... I'll never write him, because he's hers, but I still think of him fondly. ;_; and now I'll always wonder if maybe I couldn't write him better, too
