Time for everyone's favorite game - Which One is the Asshole?

Round One - Samurai Warriors' Mitsunari Ishida versus Knights of the Old Republic's Canderous Ordo


And the Asshole is? MITSUNARI ISHIDA

Why? Mitsunari not only has the personality of a nuclear waste dump site, he condescends to EVERYONE, including his own lord. In Mandalorian (and samurai) society, anyone talking back to their lord was viewed as disrespectful and therefore were executed on the spot. Why Hideyoshi Toyotomi tolerated Mitsunari's condescending attitude is beyond me.

Canderous on the other hand - followed Mandalore's law to a T, and was as loyal as the day is long even when his own masters betrayed and abandoned him. Canderous began to soften up when his friend, another Mandalorian named Jagi, killed himself for questioning Canderous's honor and doubting Mandalore's word. After leaving Revan's side, Canderous became the new Mandalore and with his reign came what he was taught to him while in the service of Revan - LOYALTY AND RESPECT

Round Two - SAMURAI WARRIORS' MITSUHIDE AKECHI VERSUS HALF-LIFE'S BARNEY CALHOUN



And the Asshole Is?: MITSUHIDE AKECHI

Why?: Well, Barney isn't a backstabbing motherfucker. Mitsuhide was a coward. When Nobunaga Oda was at the height of his power and was resting at Honnoji Temple after the long and grueling battle called Nagashino between the Oda and the famed Takeda Cavalry, Mitsuhide decided to rebel. This was also after Mitsuhide became Nobunaga's FAVORITE retainer (you don't get that by simply looking pretty). 11 days later, Mitsuhide died like a bitch - on some peasant's spear.

Barney Calhoun is as loyal to Gordon Freeman as the day is long. He takes everything in great stride, has a laid-back and down-to-earth personality, and has a phobia of cats. He would not sell out Gordon Freeman for all the beer in the world, and it tore him up in two when posing as a Civil Protection officer, he had to 'impose order' (beating innocent civilians). He is also loyal to the resistance science team. The only 'rescuing' Barney's done was Doctor Stanley Rosenberg during the Black Mesa Incident, and I hardly call Rosenberg a damsel-in-distress. And Barney himself had to be rescued by Gordon during the Uprising.

The fact in the matter is, to assume that those who only like manly-men just to fulfill some secret 'damsel in distress' fantasy is only making an ass out of you and not me.

All in all though, I don't think Jack/Gwen is that much of an unpopular opinion, it's more or less canon. Or at least uber-subtexty.
And while I'm not a het-shipper at all and I don't like Gwen...I ship it more than I ship Jack/Ianto. Then again, who cares? Tosh/Everyone OTP.

That's Lazard, a character introduced in Crisis Core. He's supposed to be the supervisor of SOLDIER, pretty much just a desk jockey who (without being too spoilery) has a few issues with family relationships.

41. I disagree mostly with your Buffy/Angel comments. Season 4 of Buffy really stunk because of the forced happy relationship and college bit, but Season 5 really picked up and got moving with better character developement and drama (which surprisingly got better after Riley Finn got the hell out). Season 5 of Angel was also really good and tied up some pretty loose ends well; not to mention that You're Welcome and SMILE TIME were the two of the greatest Buffyverse stories EVER (imho).
I have yet to watch all of Firefly, but I watched Serenity at one point and it did seem really rushed and kind of disapointing as a conclusion so I'd say you're not wrong in it being a let down.

Eh, S4 still had some interesting stuff and some great episodes. Adam was the worst Big Bad, but any season that has "Restless" "Hush" and a few others that aren't immediately coming to mind at the moment can't be too bad.
