I'm the same. It's just a little weird for me because everyone I know thinks that since I am a big HP fan I would be the most enthusiastic about all the extra stuff that keeps coming out. Like everyone keeps telling me how excited they are with the new film series for Fantastical Beasts and I'm like, "I don't care...but great for you."

And then the whole "Rowling says Hermione should have ended up with Harry" thing was rather frustrating. I read the whole article and understood that the whole "Harry and Hermione should have ended up together" was really just an attention grabber, that's not what was said at all, but it was so annoying trying to explain to everyone that it doesn't change what had happened in the books nor did it truly reflect what Rowling really meant. I'm just so tired, but I somehow feel like it's a duty to defend my thoughts on the series.

no i know that. i'm talking parents who love their kids equally but the kids themselves make vastly different choices later in life and THOSE parents will probably still love that evil child even if they end up disliking or even hating the child as well. obviously not all parents are good loving people, it's not some all-encompassing parental trait or anything.

But but but I have a Martha hate story!

Couple years ago I was at a con and checking out the 404's improv show (they're basically a nerd group version of Whose Line). One of the themes from a hat picked was "Terrible Sidekicks".

Dude steps forward and smugly announces, "I'm Martha Jones!"

I guess he was expecting a rousing bout of agreement, except it was the louder opposite of that (ie: "boooooo not cool man!"). I have yet to experience that feeling of vindication again.

I think parental love most definitely IS a requirement if you had the opportunity to turn it down and chose not to.

If you could have had an abortion or put the child up for adoption and you didn't, then I absolutely do think loving your child is a requirement to being a decent human being.

I liked Clara until series 8's premiere, where she suddenly became shallow and nearly left the Doctor because he wasn't young anymore.

The companion I REALLY cannot stand is Amy, I despise her "I'm Scottish so I can slap people and get away with it tee-hee" (and it made me grind my teeth when Capaldi went "I'm Scottish, I can COMPLAIN!" and then "Oh, ~Amy~ would have been so awesome if she were here" - seriously, she's turning into Rose) and then she always treated Rory like an afterthought and tried to seduce the Doctor. I actually quit watching the show for a while (in the middle of the sixth series, after "Let's Kill Hitler").

Was also surprised to see all the Donna hate. :(
