12. I like the series of endless fights since Ichigo & Co. entered Hueco Mundo. It contributed to the feeling of "boy, are these kids screwed", because considering the situation ... boy, are those kids screwed. Some of the fights shouldn't have been made so damn long, though. There was some terrible pacing.

21. Is it? Oops. Around then I was borrowing my aunt's epic romance novel rubbish for "the good scenes". It doesn't seem precisely like a bad thing to me - all kids that age are beginning to get giggly and interested about sex.

43. Haru and Kyoko becoming 'housewives', and I-Pin and Bianchi both fighting via cooking annoys me more in principle than in practise. It's a frustrating trend if I think of it in general terms of stereotypes, but in the series itself it doesn't bother me. The cooking as killing technique is just another thing that makes me go "oh, THIS SERIES %#%(*&^* ♥", and what are Haru and Kyoko supposed to do? They're non-combatants, and I love them for taking up the fight as best they can.

Can we be friends? I'm new to the Sera Myu fandom, because I came into it through the Bleach Myu fandom. I have only seen two of the musicals and would like to learn more, but I don't really get into the large Sailor Moon fandoms because a lot of the fans can be downright rude..

Even so, it does hurt to be told off for not making X deadline. Still, I think not failing my classes is a tiny bit more important than your damn ficathon. Wasn't this supposed to be for fun?

Fun for who? The mod who has to scramble to find a replacement for you? The person who was supposed to receive your fic as a gift, but may not have one because you couldn't meet the deadline? Or the person who has to rush to write a fic or produce art to replace the gift you didn't produce?

Yeah, fandom is supposed to be for fun, but it's not supposed to be fun

8. Wait, people initially preferred the manga for ship-related reasons? Can I ask what those were? Because I don't remember the manga being anywhere near as shippy as the anime, at least until the Ed and Winry thing, which I don't think came out until after the anime was finished airing.

Also, in my experience with FMA fandom, it is okay to say you liked the anime better. In fact, among fandoms where the manga came first, it might be the only one I have ever encountered in which this is the case.

A big issue with the "manga fans like it for the ship-quality" is usually based on people that prefer it now due to EdxWin and/or Royai becoming canon. Or at least leaning towards canon.

Basically, the people that like it better for that reason seem to prefer it because of the concrete pairings, whereas in the show... you can pretty much pair whoever you want.

I can't speak for everyone, but in my experience, anyone that prefers it for ship reasons is only making that claim more recently (after the anime ended.) because of that.

A lot of people also claim to prefer the manga now that the anime is over for reasonings like "What's up with that ending/movie?" and just the simple fact that the anime has been over for so long, and the manga is still going. I have a friend like that, who calls me constantly saying "The new volume is even better than the last!" when I just.. don't see the big deal.

I agree whole-heartedly on your last point though. Preferring the anime seems much more accepted with FMA, and actually.. people that prefer the manga are the ones that seem to get bashed with "You only like it because your OTP is canon." or because it's the "original idea."

I'm not the OP, but.. that's my $1.50, because... it's clearly more than .02

#1, yes, it is like running around in your nightgown like your sister, but it's important, I think, that we keep that imaginative part of us as we get older. :)

#8, I like both. I prefer the anime in some spots. And from the portion of the manga I've read, I prefer certain parts better there.

#11, LOL I have a sister I feel that way about. Luckily I don't share any fandoms with here. Even if I did it wouldn't matter though. I like what I like.

#23, almost everything Disney gets a spin-off movie and a show now. :/ However, I liked that movie too.

I have mixed feelings about the "silent protagonist" thing myself. I know that many developers did that on purpose so that players could identify more with the hero... but it's definitely not very conducive to fic, is it? Since everyone likely put their own imagined personalities on Chrono as they played, seeing one that someone else gave him is bothersome.

I always saw him as sort of a lovable goof-off that got a serious streak when needed. I'm sure other people imagined him as ULTIMATE BADASS!! etc.

I like the manga, I really do. But I'm pretty sure that I agree with all/most of the points stated. I ask that people at least accept that without the manga, there'd be no anime for it (and I respect the manga for that.) but it doesn't mean you have to -like- it. And the manga does explain some things the anime left out (at least in my opinion.) but so far I definitely prefer the anime.

I'm reserving complete judgement until the manga is actually finished, but.... "You guys all hate mind numbing angst, well maybe I hate fun." just made my night. I love FMA, but I love FMA serious. and yes, the comedy is fun to a degree... but I won't rant any further just incase someone does get this far and finds offense in something I say.

5. I'm not in the fandom, so maybe that's why I don't see how ignored they are. Really, I see a bunch of stuff on youtube for both pairings.

28. Hahahahah..... Yeah, I didn't think he was disabled or anything, but I prefer him not speaking too. SNES version, ftw. I only stopped playing that game about three years ago when we moved and my SNES got boxed and put into storage.

I played that game to death. Lavos was the first and only boss I spent the effort to actually trash-talk. It wasn't very exciting, since I was eight(?). And female.

I was under the impression that he would have used sign language, but that the programmers either didn't have enough room for that many sprites, or that the sprites themselves were too small. This was obviously before I realized that most games came from Japan and that having to resprite the entire game for something like that would be insane.

29. I don't bash her exactly, but I cannot stand her. Why? Because she is annoying, childish, bratty, and selfish. If she were a boy and still acted that way, I would feel the same. HOWEVER! I do feel she is an important character in the story but that doesn't mean I have to like her, want to cosplay her, and want to draw fanart of her. :) But I won't snip at people for liking her. Holy crap, are you me? I feel just the same. ^^ I do feel kinda guilty for feeling that way, since it makes sense that people would get more fannish over the pair that had less closure in canon. And I tell myself that it could be so much worse, it could be one of those fandoms where one pairing directly contradicts another pairing, and you get those huge ugly shipping wars. Mytho/Rue has the benefit of being a) canon and b) perfectly compatible with the more popular ship, so at least there aren't too many people who bash it. But still, sometimes I just wish people would give them more attention for themselves and not just as the footnote to Fakir/Ahiru.

YES. Oh god, the fact that the girls get NO development whatsoever is the only nitpick about that series I have. I mean, I looked a bit at mafia history, and women generally were the ones who stayed behind and kept house, unless most of the men were either injured, dead, or in prison...but that's no reason to do it in a modern-day comic. DDD: It makes me wonder if there would possibly be more het if the females got any development at all. x.x
