16. Oh god, female bashing in Gurren Lagann fandom makes me SAD. And I say this as a fan of both the slash and het ships in the series. Not to mention that all the characters deserve love except maybe Rossiu in a few episodes, he was kind of a fag :|

is there really that much female bashing? in all the time i've been in the fandom i've seen hardly any, and what i have seen came from anonymous.. and we all know nobody cares about anonymous' opinion. even then, most of it was just people bashing nia for being a "mary sue" which is just NO )':

29. Oh god it's TRUE. That's true of so many girls characters it's sickening. Fandom girls you are so fickle. I used to be an auto-girl-hater with anime and games for a long time. I'm finally getting over it, and it feels good to not automatically despise my own gender for no apparent reason!

8) I like the manga's storyline and characters a bit better. (Olivier FTW) The ship relatedness was a bonus. I don't understand the hate for the manga or the anime in FMA. The concept and themes are the same. Most of the characters are the same. It's just following a different storyline. X_x

16) If can't except what you don't like in fandom... You'll never be in any fandom. ALL fandoms have that aspect of something you won't like or agree with or be creeped out by. But you just gotta learn to live with it. Ya know? :/

5. I find Rue and Mytho a little boring. Fakir and Duck also just have a better story. I see where you're coming from, but Fakir and Duck do have that tragic thing going for them. Plus, it has always annoyed me how Mytho and Rue just blasted off, with barely a thank you. For that, I think they deserve to be forgotten by fandom XD (though I don't know. Wouldn't exclusion from fandom insanity be seen as a reward...?)

7. Part of me thinks that's exactly the point. They ARE fandom-defined. That's why people can have so much fun with them, explore their characters and their histories and motivations so deeply that it becomes this intriguing kind of world. Rock-solid canons that leave little room for interpretation aren't as much fun to play with because .. there's really no room to do so. idk, that's just my theory.

8. I don't really ship anything in FMA (aside from blondepile), and I still vastly prefer the manga. I don't think either the anime or the manga sucks in an objective sense; it's just that they're two different kinds of stories, and so chances are most people will prefer one to the other, based on their personal tastes.

12. More character development would be nice, though... fights are nice, but rather dull when you don't care about the people who are fighting.

Oh, I had a specific RP and character in mind, I just didn't want to give them away lest it give away my identity. But it is kinda nice to know that I'm not the only one who would RP classic Disney (although I think playing a villain is kind of less lame than playing a princess).

Studio Bones did a pretty good job of making plot holes the size of craters themselves, and reducing Alphonse Elric to a simpering yes man. I like both the anime and the manga, they both have good qualities, but I don't subscribe to one is better than the other, or vicea versa. I like having two entirely different tellings of the story; it's just more FmA for me to love. If you have to pick a side to disassociate yourself from a 'fanbrat', then you lose sight of what fandom is all about, and that's just enjoying the story and drawing your own conclusions and not worrying about what everyone else thinks.
