I'm afraid it will bomb as well. Though I can't really complain since I haven't watched it (don't have cable…). But I want it to do well because I LOVE Peggy -- she's my favorite of the MCU female characters (tied with Natasha).

So far the reviews are knocking it out of the park. And I think you mean contemporary superhero series. WB had Birds of Prey and before that (OK decades before, was Wonder Woman.)

I watched it, indifferent to the idea of it, and I LOVED IT. So, I hope you're wrong and it's a big hit.

Well, at the very least, we know it's awesome, whether or not it succeeds.

I'm kind of expecting it to fail though. It can't possibly be a good business decision to make something that I like this much.

I just watched it and I liked it. I wasn't blown away by it, but then I kind of expected that. Few things could live up to that kind of hype.

If the show keeps it up, or even if it dips a bit in the middle or something, it should still prove its point to Marvel.

One thing though: I know a lot of people would like a full (network) season, but I think a mini-series or half-season would be better. That way it could keep up the quality and remain a special event.

The first two episodes did alright in the ratings - not mindblowing, but not bad either - and reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. And personally I love that it's Peggy who got her own TV show, because AFAIK it's not even something that's based on the comics or anything - Agent Carter got made because people genuinely loved Peggy in the first Cap movie so much that they wanted to see more of her.

I love Peggy. But I really HATE the blonde!Peggy look. She just looks so much worse. And I dislike it immensely.

Really, really petty of me, but there it is.

I think my dislike of it is due to how much I love brunette Peggy.

The ratings do worry me. They weren't terrible, but they also don't give much room to go down, and most shows drop after their premieres.

But I loved it. I'm here for however long it lasts. Peggy's my favorite female MCU character, and I'll take whatever I can get.

I loved it and feedback to it seems to be mostly positive which is cool, that's not a guarantee that it will get another season ofc but I'm kinda hopeful that it will.

What do you mean by marketable too? Like action figures and stuff.

I know we're not going to get a Black Widow spin off because Marvel's not going to shell out for Scarlett Johansson. But Hayley Atwell can't demand as high of a price.

In any case, Agent Carter is only a mini series and has pretty decent ratings, so it's not bombing. Even if the ratings dropped, there are only two episodes left.

They did. It was 1975, and they chose Wonder Woman. Starred Lynda Carter. Lasted 4 seasons.

I've heard the ratings aren't outstanding, but people seem to be enjoying it and I think if that keeps up Marvel should be happy with it. I feel like if it continues to do decently and people love it we might even get a second (mini)season. I hope we do, anyway. (I don't think I would want a 'normal' season because I don't want them to overdo it or ruin it, and a tighter story that leaves us pleased but wanting more is preferable then for them to drag it out until no one cares or the characters suffer for it.)

I don't know why but I've got a hate-on for her. It's really odd. I don't care about any of the Marvel movies but I just can't with her. That's basically all I got out of the first movie (the second movie, I didn't care either way about her but her scene wasn't the huge moving moment I'd been expecting from the way people talk about it online).

I can't wait for this to fail. I'm not a Peggy fan and I want all of the "He's hot, so it's okay! :D" Howard Stark apologists to go back underground where they belong again.

I still haven't seen it yet, but according to the reviews, it was very successful. I love Peggy and she is also tied with Natasha as one of my favorites (I still hope for the day that a Black Widow movie/miniseries gets made, but instead, we have this Ghost in the Shell live action with ScarJo and not the Black Widow movie with her in it...).
