35. I think the exact same thing and I've only seen the PREVIEWS! It was on a commercial and when I heard that voice I was like ZOMG JACK!!! and I looked at the TV only to see Sweeney Todd!!! I never believed that when a lot of people are into an anime, it's automatically supposed to be da best. It can just mean it gets more talk/popularity. I guess you can't blame fans if they like talking about what they like, but you can probably take them off your flist if it really bothers you? ^^;

And is it just me who thinks Tsuna looks nothing like Sora? His hair is also brown and spiky, but the shape is so different, his eyes are djhfskjdhf wider, etc. D8

3. It says right on the secret that they read the manga. I doubt they're seeing a different series than you are, if that's what you're implying. They're completely entitled to dislike the series based on the stuff that's in it. I know I sure as hell do.

35. I thought that, too. Depp was able to do a different-sounding, still accented voice for Victor in Corpse Bride, but that doesn't really apply, I don't think. I've been assuming he kept the Jack voice because it's basically his voice-with-an-accent, which he would be most comfortable singing.

38. I have the same predicament (mostly)! I never got why the (insert token depressed teenage subculture) adopted Burton's work as a defining feature, especially Nightmare Before Christmas. Even though the visuals are a little dark and kind of morbid, it's a really happy movie! I do so love the delicious merch made to cash in on the newfound trendiness, though.

Before you complain about "canon" and "non-canon"? Learn the freaking canon.

A) The anime is not all there is.
B) If you've just gotten into the series -- like you must have, if your Sakura still keeps falling asleep at every point -- you hardly know what's canon and what isn't.
C) The latest manga chapters may not have any "I love you"s, but it's as good as. I'm not saying they are obviously canon, but accepting it is certainly more logical than denying it.

11. Oh, you are not alone. I feel like I have to give up my hipster-rocker membership card* for even thinking such a thing. The more people crow about him the more I ashamed that I can't bring myself to like him.

I read Cat's Cradle and then tried Breakfast of Champions and couldn't finish. The words he chooses flows well but his characters are flat and his plots go no where. Yeah, I get the ending of Cat's Cradle but that doesn't excuse it from being a lame ending.

Off to read some Charlie Huston.

W-why do I keep being mentioned on here. This is embarrassing! I am not that widespread. I AM NOT EVEN PUBLISHED.

If you are looking for cooler, better artists (who are better known? Lesser known? Either way they are amazing) just go to my DA and look at the list of icons on my latest journal entry. Or, alternatively, go here (http://rococoflow.blogspot.com/)!

And yeah I know the artists you're talking about--especially the latter KH artist, I was crushed when she closed down her site. I keep hoping she'll pop up again one day, s-sigh. This is what I have against fanart in icons or just fanart re-usage in general. Not because it's SRS BZNSS with icons/banners/layouts/what-have-you, but because most of the fanart isn't taken from western fandom, it's ripped from 4chan where images from j-sites are posted without source links. So viewers never see the "PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IMAGES" message typed out in English if they DID go to said sites (although, granted, there are people who'd take 'em anyway), then the site owners find out, and if they're bitter enough they close down. It's why I've taken to the habit of saving fanart on my HD for personal fawning, I do not trust j-fen to keep their sites for more than a month.

I pretty much fucking love Vonnegut, and I was unaware that it was a trend until my least favorite myspace whore put him on her favorites list.
