I've never really liked it either. I don't hate it, but other than the covers of the FFs or something, I've never looked at any of his drawings - I don't search for them because I don't think his drawings are pretty/cool/w/e.

Gundam SEED & Gundam SEED Destiny are ridiculous - it's part of the charm. I was more irritated when they switched the eyecatch sequence from Athrun to Kira. Low blow, much? & Kira looks awful in the white coat.

Also, lol @ Yzak and Dearka with no buttsex.

It was pretty much a low blow especially since the viewer wasn't aware that Kira/Lacus was the canon ship when they first changed the eyecatch. Sorta ruined everything and made me go "goddamn it". (As a sidenote, I think Kira looked pretty good in the white coat. It just made me go, "...what? ...why? ...how? ...when? Goddamn it, Sunrise.")

And I can dream, can't I? WHY IS THERE NO FRIEND!FIC? GUYS CAN HANG OUT, TOO, YA KNOW! PENIS DOES NOT GO IN BUTT ALL THE TIME.

22. I'm not a fan of his line quality, but I think he's a master of watercolor. The way he uses color in some of his non-FF and original works is absolutely stunning. Still, I don't exactly workship the groun he walks on.

22. I don't care for his art. I can appreciate it but I don't find it appealing at all.

26. When I got into superheroes as a kid I just read random issues from all over those 40 years. After some time I started to make connections.
Only the smallest number of fans has read every story and the rest of us have created our own timelines/connections/OTPs. No one knows everything and a honest fan has to admit that even the newest readers can contribute.

My advice is that you just enjoy the individual stories. If you can't understand an isolated episode, it's the fault of the writer. The same goes for Naruto.

(Please try and watch Naruto Episode 101. It's the best ep. ever)

Art is in the eye of the beholder, though, isn't it? I think Jackson Pollock is rubbish and over rated, and absolutely adore Mucha. Amano isn't an art god, but there's something to his art style that I personally find heartwarming. And that's the whole point, right?

OH MY GOD YES. I love that book, and I have for years. I was so excited when I heard about the movie, and ultimately, I was disappointed. It's not like the movie wasn't good - but it wasn't the story I knew. D:

26. I'm also intimidated by series that have a zillion chapters. But it wasn't that long ago that I caught up to One Piece and Bleach. Jump right in and you'll catch up soon enough. And it's kind of nice to have lots and lots of material already out so you don't have to wait for the next episode. ~~Someday I'll read Berserk. Someday.~~

Her stuff ranges from friend!fic to ambiguousness to fairly tastefully handled buttsex (ohnoes). There's also some decent pieces to be gleaned from http://dearka.yzak.nu/fanworks/fanfiction.php and the associated Secret Santa collective, but if the idea of them in any form of more-than-friends relationship makes you break out in hives, it might not be worth your while to check it out. :(

I always thought of Liszt/Wagner as the main pairing - with unrequited love from Liszt that Wagner uses by asking him for money all the time, then jealousy from Liszt (and maybe hatesex?) when Wagner falls in love with Cosima. Drama? In my 19th century composers? It's more likely than you think.

... and now I need to now more about this Liszt/Chopin/Sand sandwich because it sounds wonderful *wikipedies*

Oh, hell. You're not the only one, no. Though I have to say, it's Chopin who makes it really HOT.

26. I feel your pain. I got into comics about six months ago and had no idea where to start. But I joined

scans_daily and figured out what I liked. Wikipedia is a lifesaver when it comes to character bios and backstory, and all fellow fans I've met are more than happy to give their opinion on good story archs. Take it easy in the beginning. Pick a character you like and ask around for essential storylines. Don't worry too much about the backstory in the beginning, you'll pick it up as you go. Good luck!

25. SIGNED, SEALED, DELIEVERED! You aren't alone. I loved that movie. The only thing that really irritated me was the portrayl of the author as a chain-smoking alcholic (because I feel it's such a sterotype of writers), but her morbidity redeemed her for me. *Grin.* It's a really good "writer's movie" because I think we all wonder what would happen if our characters became aware of us.

26. I know how you feel. I do have a retrospective book of selected comics of Superman from the 30s-70s and those old comics are interesting to read, but I don't think any of the "big established" comics fandoms will get a huge devotion from me because they're just so... huge - there's literally DECADES of history there, I just don't have the attention span for it, and it makes me sad.

Wait, there are people who don't hate that art style with a burning passion? And they're a majority? I don't know what corner of the internet you're in, but that's news to me.

It's not SCRIBBLES, it's just (god forbid) not anime art. :|

19. There are still some fucking great writers there, it's just that they don't post every other day. You'll find that those amazing writers will post maybe every two weeks or so, where as those who write drivel will post almost every day. It's easy to weed out what you do and don't want to read - just look for the word "Summary". If it's spelled "Summery", give the fic a miss!

Firefly Eyes is still being written, too!

Firefly Eyes is just a rip off of Haunted and Lights Of Home.
