Final Fantasy VII

26. I had the same problem. I found the best way was to find some in-the-know fans and ask what they thought were good places to start. After all, they've been sucking people into comics since they were kids. Other way - try the newer revamps of older series, like the Ultimate universe for Marvel. That way, you get into it, get to know the characters and then it's easier if you want to read the older/other versions of the characters, as opposed to how daunting it is once you first start.

32. RACCOONS! I wish they'd release it on DVD. My VHS copy of Raccoons and the Lost Star is dead :(

19. Not all of the new vam fics are shit, in fact A LOT of them aren't.
Sure there is a few out there that suck, and basically have no plot, but that doesn't mean only elterriblefizzy, gal8028, annushkazhivago, and wicked_smiles are the only good vam writers out there.
I'm not saying they're not great, but they're not the only great ones.
So basically, I disagree with you there.

Seventeen however, I greatly agree.
She only looks good when playing a fucking crazy bitch.

#19 - I feel your pain. So fucking much.

#40 - yeah, I couldn't for a long time either. And cult episodes of police procedurals gave me panic attacks - but I'm mostly better now. Haven't even had a nightmare in a long time. Not about that, anyway.

But it got better, and I promise you, someday you'll be able to watch without the guilt, without the anger, without the hopelessness. At least, that's what I kept telling myself, until now, where it's true more often than not.

I didn't want to ban him from my lj, I didn't want to turn IPS logging on and anonymous posting off - but he Just. Wouldn't. Stop.

I'm terrified, posting this now, 'cause he'll find me here. And take the opportunity to hurl some more abuse. But I can't stay silent, because I KNOW YOUR FEELINGS, exactly.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is: you're not alone. We're out here. Most of us are hiding, because he fucking terrifies us, but we're here. And that's why, in spite of how scared I am, in spite of him tracking me and more importantly the rest of us down, I'm NOT posting this anonymously - though god, I understand why you did. I understand.

:) Thank you. Thank you for posting.

I was kind of worried about even posting this secret because I figured OMG THEY WILL FIND IT AND THERE WILL BE DRAMA, but it's mostly people offering support or going "What the hell?" so that's been pretty cool.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. *hugs*

Near as I can tell - he can only find people talking about him if a) he's mentioned by name/lj handle, b) one of his sites is linked to, c) one of his cronies rats them out or d) it's going on in a comm he follows anyway.

A) and b) don't apply, d doesn't apply afaik, and here's hoping c doesn't either.

Know that you are not alone - there are a lot of us. It's not so easy to find each other and get together, because it's so hard to trust. But we're out there. And we're healing.

I completely agree (though I've seen a lot of people who dislike his art as well). I can appreciate Amano as an artist, but, FUCK, the people he draws terrify me.

#26 - a good place to start would be [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily and then start asking comic book fans for write ups. The quickest and best way to get into comics is too find someone who already is, and then hit wikipedia. There are also novelizations of major story arcs that can help you catch up.

If you're asking what comic book character to start with - the big three are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman - I would start there. [You have a DC picture - that's why I say this.] Also, you don't need to catch up on 30 or 40 years of comics, I promise! I would also recommend trades as a way to go. You might even be able to borrow them from the library.

That all being said, most of us who like comics just choose one at random. My first Nightwing comic was #25, I got lucky, and I have never stopped being in love with the character. But as a caution of warning: Even crazy fans, ones who know everything -- most of them still can't match up time lines, it's just too much, so don't worry if you miss stuff. So does everyone else. Including the writers of the comics.

17. SIGNED. And that fourth picture, the one that's X'd out, what fandom is that?

Back off of the Auschwitz story, people have different tastes of writing. I also love Closed Door and Firefly eyes as much as i loved Auschwitz. Its really sad of you to diss someone elses talent darling.

Thank you Rouva XxX

Just because people have different tastes, doesnt mean they can bitch about it!

Totally gonna friends lock all my work from now on!
