Yes, it is basically canon. It's not a matter of being ashamed that I ship it, it's a matter of being angry that people make assumptions (IE that I'm a stupid fanbrat) based on the fact that I ship it. Mostly related to recent Tsubasa fandom wank.

8. I'm lukewarm on Iris, and I can appreciate her history with Phoenix, but all that rationalizing she did on Dahlia's behavior kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I get it, they're twins, she feels a strong bond despite their differences, but still. So I guess what I'm saying is--this secret is true facts. Especially the part about Phoenix/Armstrong. :D

13. There is an easy solution, and it involves not posting secrets that alienate entire demographics of fandom. Failing that, you might avoid posting secrets that can be easily traced to you. Failing that, you might stop worrying about what others think, because if the above points do not apply to you, people will generally leave you alone.

I... apparently am not seeing the same problem as you. A lot of games get a ton of drops in winter time - its just the season. As well, the game has been getting the same level of posts daily as it has been for months now, which is in the 30 to 40 range. The only time it gets above that is when a plot or something starts, and then you can expect around 80 to 100 posts, then steadily petering down by about 10 to 20 a day until back at the 30 to 40 range.

Yes, a few of the old players have been dropping, but the thing is? They weren't really all that active for months now. It isn't that big of a loss, and the game is still going fine. But by leaving just because you THINK its sinking only pushes it one step closer to where it really is.

1. OOFURI SECRET! And I definitely see your point; I would probably ship Abe and Mihashi if I weren't so ho-hum over Mihashi. But I really don't think the mangaka is going to pair anyone with anyone. It's a sports series, romance usually doesn't play a huge part.

Ugh. Me too. W-well, I liked it in the anime.. But the way the manga has been going recently has made me really start hating it.. -_-

I think Hatori should either make it open-ended for pairings or have Hikaru end up with Haruhi (although unfortunately, I doubt either of these will happen). Why Hikaru? Because since meeting Haruhi, his life has completely turned around. His feelings for her have made him change A LOT - she's had a massive impact on him and I love that. Whereas, Tamaki hasn't seemed to have developed at all. He's still the same old Tamaki, like he always was. Also, no matter how "unique" Hatori may have made the TamaHaru pairing, the fact remains that because it's main girl x main guy, it's still cliche.

In what way, particularly, is the pairing argued as unique? I'm just curious to see what would give it that particular label.

I also agree with Hikaru. A few of the "sideline" characters in the series have been incredibly affected by Haruhi since her induction to the group. Tamaki has as well, but his changes aren't as obvious, or perhaps their significance is passed off, but I never felt that he was getting Haruhi for Haruhi, but instead, for his idea of what she could be. And what, maybe, he could be.

9: OP, you are far from alone. I don't have any lingering fondness for them as a couple. As friends, I love everyone in the series, but I cannot for the life of me find any modicum of joy in Haruhi/Tamaki. I've never enjoyed them in a romantic relationship, for a variety of reasons (which are probably too boring in the whole to wax on about here). In short: I agree and empathize with you. Regardless of them ending up the canon couple or not, I don't enjoy Tamaki/Haruhi, and probably never will.

20: I can understand the sentiment. Because of "wank" and similar things which come up in heated discussion or... lack of discussion here, I feel actively admitting that I come and read the community lessens me in the eyes of some of my friends. Then I shrug and stop caring, because hey, it's what I want to do, and not what they want to influence. =)

28: People do find friendship/"I care for you but not romantically" to be fulfilling, but often lack the feverency for these sorts of relationships instead of sexual/romantic ones. I know I find myself preferring friendship ships over sexual ones, mostly out of personal preference, and out of a need to understand compatibility in romantic/sexual relationships. Two people getting along great does not a sexual lust-bed make, but we all see what we want in a series. Bleach feels as prone to that as most others I've been involved with. Also, I agree: I don't see the two of them in a romantic relationship, but in a friendship ship I love them.

14. Oh, stop whining already. The new translation is truer to the original. If you don't like that fact, TOO BAD. Get over it.

And Locke was always love-starved. IMO, the new translation clarified Locke and Celes' relationship quite a bit. The SNES version always confused me as to how they felt about each other.

And the opera part wasn't even that different O_o They just made it fit with the music. Geez!

Oh my God, WORD! In the end credits, when he says that she is the girl he thought he was dating after all... Um, did he miss the part where she could have prevented all those deaths at any time if she'd just spoken out, but chose not to do it? I hope those accessory charges keep her in lockdown for a good long time.

Also, it takes a lot of fail to be so decisively less hot than your identical twin sister.

33. Oh man, yes! I didn't even like Shinjiro that much, his character frustrated me so much. His death was sad, but it wasn't until all those random kids at school were like "Oh, some thug that went to our school got killed, so what?" that I got really mad, and then when Akihiko had his whole moment on the stage that I just BAWWWWW'ed like a little girl. It always broke my heart a bit whenever Akihiko said "Did you see that, Shinji?" after battles, too. So yeah, Shinjiro's death didn't affect me as much as the character's reactions and the lasting imprint it left in the rest of game ;.;
