...I always got the impression that the first translation of FFVI skirted the edges of their relationship. But I can't read Japanese so I can't tell you if the new translation is more faithful or not. I'm just gonna go out here on a limb here and say that it is because Celes' attempted suicide now reads like an actual attempted suicide and not a "leap of faith."

DESPITE THAT, HOWEVER. LOCKE WAS STILL HUNG UP ABOUT RACHEL AND KEPT HER IN SUSPENDED ANIMATION FOR YEARS. WHATEVER TRANSLATION YOU GO THROUGH HE'S STILL LOVE-STARVED.

No joke here! And I know it was poorly worded, but I meant it both aesthetically (or as far as her character design goes) as well as emotionally. Maybe it's silly, but her story really was beautiful to me. And tragic, terribly tragic. Maybe my secret should have been 'I cried'...

1. Oofuri secret! ♥ I admit this may be because I'll ship anything, but I'd rather see nobody ever hooked up in canon for Oofuri. I like it a lot better when they're all just being sweet and innocent and awkwardly saying I LIKE YOU! If there were ever actual pairing off going on, I'd be kind of disappointed.
