lol. The problem with recreating any person, fictional or otherwise, in the Sims 2 is because the game has its own cartoony style. There's plenty of people that have made more realistic skin tones, hair, and clothing, but such detail generally isn't done for fandom sims in the first place.

So hey, I see where you're coming from. XD I still think fandom sims are fun to have, but it's kinda disappointing that creators are saving all the quality for making celebrity look-alike sims. Not that I haven't seen some really good fandom sims, but they're in short supply.

48. Zidane's optimistic outlook was a breath of fresh air for me, and it was the first Final Fantasy that I played to completion. It has a great soundtrack, compelling characters (whose ages are spread out, instead of everyone being 18), and plenty of nifty places to explore/things to do. These are just a few of the reasons that FFIX is my favorite. :O

Dude, friggin' DEAL. It's not like the Japanese (and every other major culture out there) doesn't coopt every other culture for the hell of it. German, American, British, French... but now it's your culture and suddenly you're BAWWWWing? Everyone has to deal with it occasionally if they like Japanese fandoms. Suck it up.

16. Yeah, I don't really get how people can make such broad statements as "I hate anime" or "I love anime." To be fair though, I think most people who say they hate it don't really hate anime so much as the the loud fangirls who constantly go "OMG SASUNARU KAWAII OTP YAOI BUTTSEX DESU~! ^___^" It annoys them, so they hate the fangirls, and anime by association.

Don't feel alone, all my friends loved IX too, but I loathe it. Given, it's not a bad game, it's just as quality and hard work as all the other FF's, but it just didn't "do it" for me. I won't actively flame/bash it, but I will admit that it made me pretty mad when I bought it and was so sorely let down. >.< That's just me though.

16. Those terms - hating everything, disliking everything - are rather too strong, yes. But from what I understand, manga and anime aren't very highly regarded as art in Japan, though they are immensely popular. I think someone who doesn't like a/m is much more open to accusations of being a literary/artistic snob than racism.

I suppose it's rather like genre fiction in the UK. If it's good, quoth the critics, it ain't genre, it's literature.

I don't care much for either manga or anime, simply because I'm more geared to words than pictures. I find it hard to follow manga; I might find it easier to like anime, but the pften dubious subtitling, overly pretty-in-a-stylized-way main characters, and bad dubs put me off. It's also hard to find the more thoughtful stuff - shelves of Inu Yasha and Naruto, not much Honey and Clover. You know the drill.

I'll have to disagree, why does something need to be regarded as good to make itself a valid art medium? I'm not really sure how anime/manga is regarded as a nation in Japan (outside that it is large enough to be intergrated in their culture), because I don't live there, but given that they seem to acknowledge that children isn't their only target audience and that family-friendly stories isn't their only portrayal, I can deduct it fairs better than North America. But even if Japan looks down on it, or even with NA having the whole social belief that cartoons are only for kids, it really shouldn't invalidated as a form of media.

Point is, there's nothing wrong with preferring books over film or comics, but that doesn't mean it's less of a story telling medium as any other.

(and just another note--just because there are some series that are loudly popular doesn't mean there is a lack of thoughtful or deep stories in anime/manga. It's as diverse as Hollywood. If you are curious I can give you a whole list of reccomendations easily.)

I LOVE YOU. I seriously don't get all the Tidus hate... I never felt annoyed by him once so I can't really see why people dislike him so bad. I mean, the hate is REALLY there. Oh well. I will join you and #5 in loving him in not-really-secret. ♥

To be honest, he got on my nerves a bit, and I had other characters from the game that I liked more than him. But, Christ, the amount of Tidus-hate in FFX fandom is mindblowing.

And I have to give the man his due. I mean, dying (for all intents and purposes--let's pretend that X-2 does not exist) so that your girlfriend/lover/super awesome party leader doesn't have to choose between not saving either Spira, him, or herself? That's a pretty stand-up thing to do. Good on you, Mr. I'm Too Good For A Real Shirt.

Some PoT fans would probably disagree about only watching the musicals, but I say: if you can get enough of a grasp of all the characters and relationships by just watching the musicals... then good for you! :) You've saved yourself from sitting through a ton of boring tennis matches. XD I, personally, see the musicals as a fun and extremely enjoyable enhancement of the anime and manga, and I don't think I would understand or like PoT as much if I had only seen Tenimyu though.
