6. You summed up all my feelings about FFX! I don't get all the Tidus hate either, he wasn't my favorite out of all the game, but I found him likeable.

24. I was expecting him to be a big badass like everyone ke[t raving about, but I was really disappointed. Not saying that Godot is a bad character, but I don't see him very badass. Suave, yes, but not badass.

Putting that aside, why does it matter so much if someone doesn't enjoy anime and/or manga? Some people just don't enjoy comics. Or animation. It doesn't matter how many different genres, story lines, or styles of artwork you throw at them, they just don't like it. Period. And that's fine.. even if it does mean that there's an entire "form of media" that they don't enjoy.

I think it was more badass he wasn't weirded out by Armstrong. If a guy like that started flirting with me, I'd be a bit worried.

It is a genre, or at least a subpart, and definitely not a medium of its own. It's a subpart of sequantial art. If you like, for instance, Western animation, but dislike anime, it's comparable to saying "I like Hollywood films, but I dislike the Bollywood ones." Hollywood + Bollywood are subparts/genres of the medium "film", while Western animation and European animation are subparts/genres of the medium "animation".

48 - Just popped in here sort of randomly and saw this.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with not liking FF9-- the game was beautiful, the story and characters were rich and the art style itself amazing. The classes were different enough to be useful in their own ways, and having four people in your party was a welcome throwback and something I'd like to see more often. The way you gained abilities and used them was neat and Trance was awesome.

Despite all this, the game was just NOT FUN to play. I slogged through it because I felt like I SHOULD like it, but it's just not fun-- and that's really taught me a lot about games.
