nayrt - It's not the only reading I get, mostly because "deserve" doesn't enter into it. There are lots people in this world who don't deserve to die, but it doesn't mean I'm ecstatic they're alive. Those are two different issues: 1) whether or not someone's life is "worthy" and 2) how I personally feel about them. Kind of like I personally don't like beer, but I'm not saying that it's not worthy of being served in bars to other people who enjoy it.

It's a shitty defense because even if they're not saying he deserved to die, it's still pretty much bullshit to say that you don't care about a dude getting into a horrible car crash because you think he was a dick sometimes.
