Weekend Plans

I'm going to try and talk my sister into seeing Mad Max again before it leaves theaters. If that doesn't work, we'll probably see Jurassic World instead. Other than that, I'll be doing boring chores and grocery shopping. :(

Stuff for Father's Day! We have a surprise planned for the SO's dad so we are driving up to see him.

I will be remembering my own dad with a bottle of wine, maybe.

Oh, and packing. And giving stuff to good will. There will be a lot of that.

That is one bonus of moving, you can use it as an opportunity to get rid of stuff.

It's midsummer, so everyone is either out of town or drunk or both. I personally don't drink, so I've stayed inside and will continue to do so (I did go out a bit earlier today, to see if there was any bonfires by the local lake, but nope). Maybe I'll go for a walk tomorrow early when everyone's still hungover. The city's nice when it's empty.

Also I am just finishing the first draft of this 25k fanfic I've churned out in the past two weeks. Editing that will take forever.

Me and my friend are starting to play Path of Exile. That might happen this weekend, depending on how well my fanfic is doing at the time.

My weekend actually started early, because there was the parade for the Warriors in Oakland today which essentially made it impossible for me to get to work. Which is fine, really, cause fuck it, three day weekend.

In terms of my plans, nothing really. Gonna call my dad for Father's Day (he lives across the country atm) and that's about it.

Father's day party tomorrow. Going to the last day of the big used book sale (half price!). Finish the chapter of my book so I can finish the logistics for my multi-fandom AU.

For some reason I've been really inspired to design some knitting patterns, specifically a shawl and some knee-high socks. So I'll be taking my vague ideas and studying other patterns and playing with yarn until I get something that works. I haven't done this in a while and it's kind of exciting to get back into it.

Today's Saturday and I'll just be doing chores, but tonight my family and I are going to my grandfather's house where all his children's families are going to gather to have sahur (the meal you take before fasting) and iftar (the meal after) together. It's going to be great, I love sharing meals with a big group.

Working on a video project, mostly. It's my way to earn some extra income since hours at work have been light the last month and a half, and I've gotta start saving up for Alamo City Comic Con in September (I'd spent all my savings on one of my dogs at the emergency animal hospital last month, but seeing her doing much, much better and happy makes having to work a little extra harder for a con totally worth it).

Might try to find the time to sneak in either some Old Republic (I'm currently trying to get all main classes up to level 60 before the next expansion hits in October. 3 out of 8 so far). Or drawing... been slowly starting to flesh out a personal/original project of mine, haha. I dunno.

We were gonna go see 'Inside Out' as a family for Father's Day (my parents have somehow rediscovered enjoyment in seeing movies as a family again) but we might wait until $5 Tuesdays at our regional cinema chain to do that. :V

Going to see a movie tomorrow with my sister and then having dinner out with the family for Father's Day. After having several weeks of pure shit, it feels a little unreal and I'm so thankful for the reprieve.

So my roommate invited me to go to a water park tomorrow. I really shouldn't take a whole day off studying, but I can't resist. It will probably be just about my last fun day of the summer, so I plan on enjoying it.

Sunday I will have to make up for it with all day studying, but totally worth it.

Breakfast with the racing crowd in the morning, some chores to do, having a cookout for my dad and brother for Father's Day on Sunday. Other than that, probably doing some light planning for my Camp Nano clusterfuck, trying to beat the damn skeleton thing on Terraria, and catching up on the two days of sleeping I missed.

Hopefully my hemoglobin levels will be high enough for donating blood. I'm not actually anemic, but my iron/hemoglobin levels tend to be a tad low. My mom has this issue as well, so I know it's not just diet/menstrual crap interfering. Barring that, I'll be embracing my role in life as a technical freak and photograph classic cars from a technique-focused perspective with no drive to try to be artistic.
