Whilst I agree that Light wasn't justice.. I don't think L was, either. He said himself that he would give Light the death sentence if he found proof he was Kira.. and isn't that pretty much the same as what Light was doing? Ridding the world of "bad guys" and all? I mean, yes, Light did kill thousands of people, but no matter how immoral he might have been, does L really have the right to judge him? I think not. Plus, when L got his hands on the Death Note, he was actually honestly considering using it himself (to test out if it was real or fake, I think. My memory fails me a bit here), so no, I don't believe he's justice, either.

39. I've tried to love Death Note. I look at the art and think it's gorgeous, but by the time I started actually reading it, it ended up being overshadowed by other serial killer/mystery-centric things that I found more compelling (Namely Monster and Dexter). I don't like it, but I don't dislike it either.

44. My brother made me proud by completely getting it. He went with a friend and the friend's girlfriend, and when the girlfriend complained that they never find out where the monster comes from or what it is or whatever, he railed into her, all, "That's not the point!" And then he proceeded to go into this explanation about how it's about the little flailing people in the streets who don't know anything and what they would do and how they would react if our hometown was attacked, and he genuinely made me want to hug the life out of him with fannish glee.

I adored the movie AND the camerawork, and I was one of those lame dorks who had to leave because it was nauseating me.

22. I am too much like Howard Moon for this to work. And I am a girl. Weird. (Yes, I have actually made a stationary village type...er, village? Not as anal as his but man, was it ever sweet.)

43. My problem with the ending was not the deaths of all three of those characters. It was the fact that the show simply ended there. I would have loved a quick next scene of Jet reading Spike's obituary or cleaning Spike's gun. I wouldn't what Jet to cry or anything of the like. That's not in the character. All I want to show is that the man understood that Spike is dead. Faye would walk into the lounge. She, herself, wouldn't say anything about Spike's death either. Instead, she's standing there eating an orange and looking at Jet.

Faye: So, what now?
Jet: We're going to Earth.
Faye: Earth? Why, is there a big bounty?
Jet: No. I want my dog back.

They could have ended it right there knowing that they were looking for Ed and Ein and I would have been happy with that ending. Is it a happy ending? No. Spike is still dead. But it would have showed the crew moving on. And that's all I wanted.

I was really reluctant to play it when I got The Orange Box, but I am so glad I did. I've never had so much fun in my life.

I've been looking for a fan community or some way to meet up with cool kids and play the game [on 360, woe I do not have it on the PC] but I've found nothing. It makes me sad.

Ningeeeen. Ningen explain secret number nine to me. I have no idea wh the people in it are, or why they are shopped onto a hunter and a dead wolf, but the picutre si incredibly bizarre and so oddly appealing that I MUST KNOW before I go to sleep. In a way, I both agree and disagree. I agree that some people don't give it the chance it deserves, because the idea behind it is absolutely brilliant. However, I have a feeling that the reason most people (like myself) try to avoid it is because the fandom is a bit... overwhelming.

It's become the Kingdom Hearts of anime. It's hard for people to appreciate what is truly a very good thing, because the fans are far too... fanatical. So it's hard to convince someone on the outside looking in.

27. I agree. I don't mean to offend anyone, really, but what's up with "Strong black women"? I've never seen a character portrayed as a strong chinese woman or mexican or any other race. I feel like the media is only using their ethnicity to show the world how strong they are. Yeah, they're strong, but they're leaving out everyone else, and it's making them look superior than the rest because they're "strong".

58. Who cares? LS and AzDh are different IMO. LS is about otaku at school, and AzDh is about a 10 year old high school student and her dsfhksgfjdsgc-ing friends.

The Sister Fidelma books?

Unfortunately, I've read the first one and not found any more - I only buy mystery books second hand or on the cheap; unlike Cadfael and the Susanna Gregory books, the Fidelma books just do not seem to turn up anywhere.

Fidelma is pretty kickass, though - maybe I'll have to start hunting her down a little more seriously.

(My friend put me onto the series, and she's on LJ too, so unless you are her, there's at least one more person on LJ who knows what you mean. =) )
