Too Big!1: Word. I was so excited about the anime until I actually watched it. It might be prettier animated, but the anime's just... completely managed to fuck itself up beyond relief. I just wish more people realized it and gave the manga a chance.

41. As much as I adore this show like it was a kin, I have to agree with you there. My problem was that it just wasn't as bizarre and surreal as the other two. The closet thing they had in the third series that matched the weirdness of the second two was the Crack Fox. The Hitcher and the Spirit of Jazz they already used. So, the Crack Fox was it. Everything else was straight foreward. A hipster copy cat, a talent show and a birthday party? Come on, boys, this is too easy for you.

Where was the coconut police chase in the bamboo cars? Where was Death in a Taxi Cab taking you to monkey hell? Where are the funky mermen with manginas? Where are the old lady demons who knit scarves of doom? Where was the man made out of used bubblegum with tiny people in his belly? Where were the WTF moments?

I missed them so.

3. Hahahaha, oh, you. GET OVER YOURSELF. Nena's considered a psycho bitch BECAUSE SHE IS ONE. No sane person shoots down a bunch of civilians because they look like they're having fun. I doubt even Hallelujah would resort to that one, and if he did, then he is equally as deplorable as she was -- but up until now, he's only exercised cruelty against actual enemies.

19. The thing that bothers me about it (I won't claim it's not canon, but I don't have to like it) is that it's kind of like say there's an Advent Children II. And suddenly, the whole time, Reno is Cloud's bestest best friend and all out fighting the Turks to get him back. We have Tifa's word for this! She draws pictures of them going on picnics and holding hands. And there's even a scene where they eat ice cream together, all buddy-buddy. So they must be friends!

Isn't your reaction to that something along the lines of "WTF"?

I know renocloud exists. But the thing is, even in fanfiction, to make a relationship (of any kind) plausible, it's got to be developed. There's got to be interaction showing why they're friends and how they became friends, especially if it's with a character like Axel. You can't just kind of smack a "oh they became friends/they were always friends" and expect everyone to just be like "oh ok then" when the characters in question have never been seen before/never been seen interacting before.

That would be exactly why I used to have such a huge problem with it. I saw an irreconcilable disparity between CoM Axel and KHII Axel for a very long time. It got to the point that I started believing, years down the road, that Axel's "you make me feel like I have a heart" line was a fanon thing, not a canon thing, and I was shocked to learn he'd said it in-game.

That said, from what I've seen, the manga and FM+ tried to play a little catch-up with making that work. How successful that's been, I don't know, as I don't read the manga and haven't watched the cut scenes. These days I just justify it with what I DO know as well as my own headcanon, just to make his character cohesive. It works.

I don't really hate anybody (not even Light, although mocking him is extremely fun), but MATSUDA LOVE YAY ♥

Honestly? I think what happens to him at the end is one of the most tragic things in Death Note. Because nearly everyone else is so dark and twisted and morally ambiguous, and he's just... a genuinely good, nice person, and that gets shattered. And in the last chapter... I want to hug him, so hard, and tell him it'll all get better except it won't and wow, this is a really incoherent comment. That's what I get for coming on here at midnight and not some time whan I can actually string sentences together.

Anyway, yeah. See icon. I can't believe I only have two icons of him.

fdhdk the thing is with all those, couldn't you just have made one big secret listing uhhh all the things you'd like to do to Sylar? I mean making them all separate kind of just takes up space from other people when they're all kinda related and stuff.
