Is the game like Clue but with a Sci-fi twist?

Just wondering, because that's what the various colors bring to mind

I was thinking the same thing.

OP

The setup of the game is that any character who gets the last word in an argument can briefly give orders to whoever they were arguing with. The villain lures a bunch of people to his mansion, then tests out his new one-way loudspeaker, which amounts to a crude mind control device since they can't respond to his arguments. It's played almost completely for laughs. (Gameplay-wise, it's mainly an adventure game, but it has an incredibly weird RPG-style "combat" system for arguing with people.)

If it's the concept itself that squicks you then no way are you going to be able to handle JJ.

Now I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to sit through Jessica Jones...

If your mind control squick is that bad, you're not. Seriously, that show is great but it's like mind control antiporn; taking a long, long look at how ugly and scary that power could be. If that's your squick, you're not going to be able to watch it, end of story.

Typo fix

Date, not data. I don't know how I missed that.

Honestly JJ is not just a good show, but an important one. If you want to be a part of the cultural discussion regarding white male entitlement and the ubiquitous victimization of women you need to watch this show. Work through your disgust. Disgust is the appropriate resonse, but supporting this show and what it's trying to do is much more important.

Jesus Christ you're an asshole. Stop sucking the fun out of life and go find something you actually enjoy.

I have to say, "white male entitlement" isn't a thing I talk much about.

What about the constant assault on women in our culture? Is that something that affects you?

This might be giving myself away, but I do a lot of talking and writing about bodily autonomy. That's a right that's frequently under attack from white men, but not solely white men--some of the people most devoted to policing women's bodies are themselves women! There are other issues that might divide more neatly along race or gender lines, but I don't get involved in those as much as I do for bodily autonomy.

I agree it's a great thing that the show is portraying mind control as something disgusting, etc, etc, but nobody NEEDS to watch it if that kind of characters-suffering-lack-of-autonomy bothers them that much-- some people have such a visceral reaction BECAUSE they've been victimized/stripped of their autonomy in non-sci-fi ways. You can't talk about being supportive of victimized women if you're going to turn around and try to shame them into watching something that would be triggering.

(I mean, I don't know that OP is a woman, but I'm saying in general, a lot of people who find themselves unable to sit through JJ, it's because they know how it feels to be controlled by someone, and those aren't the people who NEED to be watching the show)
