42. I once got a review saying my fic was "believable unlike other fics for the pairing." I was flattered, except that I wrote almost all the other fics too. I think they honestly didn't realize that. But, if they're just saying you're a good writer for the pairing, I'm sure they mean it, even if you don't have much competition. Otherwise they could just not say anything.

51. I agree with this analysis of their relationship. He's not a paternal figure. I'm not sure it bothers me all that much if people want to write it, especially since I've read maybe one fic in the fandom, but it's pretty obvious to me that they're equals.

57. I've often wondered why it doesn't have a bigger fandom. I mean, lots of other kids' shows do. I think it's partly the lack of a bad guys and that sort of excitement but Arthur-the-Aardvark-who-doesn't-actually-look-like-an-aardvark-at-all has a much bigger fandom. Not that I personally really want to read smut about any of these characters, though 20-year-old versions of them sound kind of intriguing.

As someone who pretty started the MSB fandom, I have to pimp out the MSB section (http://www.fanfiction.net/cartoon/Magic_School_Bus/10/0/1/1/0/0/0/0/0/1/) at FF.net, hehe. I have/am written/writing smut, but most of all the stories are high school-adult era, and some of mine aren't smutty (I'm "the ultimateSora" on there). Surprisingly, not many fics are canon-era.

Bad idea. Having friends who aren't into your nerd interest is a good thing--sometimes you really do just want to get away from the scene. Don't cut yourself off from potentially fulfilling relationships just because they don't get the nerd stuff.

yeah, i thought about this and i tried but i am always excluded from things just because we have so little in common, although i don't think it is intentional. i don't think i'm asking much by wanting friends who are into the same things i am. i've even tried talking to them about it but i get nowhere with that.

4. I just can't get behind it. I can see where slash would go, but it just...doesn't work for me. I almost wish it did, because then I'd actually get some fufillment out of the slashfic and all that good gear. Heck, that scene where Sam blurts out that he'd loved a girl "back in Hyde" that results in Gene sputtering "You great... soft... sissy... girlie... nancy... french... bender... Man-United supporting POOF!!"
...yeah, part of me was like "Aw, Gene's jealous."

But even then, it's just a joke for me. I can't really ship them sexually. Their relationship is so much cooler than that, and something else entirely for me. I can't figure out what, though.

14. I hate to say it, but I think that's the point of the writing. Really, it's all fanservice, just in a subtext way, rather than, as someone said, a Torchwood way.

Agreed so hard with this. I'm not bi (well, I'd rate myself about a 1.5 on the Kinsey scale), but I understand how hard it can be to be honest both to your parents and yourself. In the end, though, you can only make yourself happy. Just trust your heart, do what you think is best, and don't be afraid to be yourself . Good luck!
