So arrest them. What does them being immigrants have to do with this? Or Muslim? People of all sorts attack gay people. Judging all Muslims or all Immigrants by what some individuals do is like judging all white people by what the Unabomber did (or any other white murderer).

That seems like a good idea. Not an excuse. But while it won't stop all men who rape, if there is even a chance of it stopping some, this is a great idea. Certainly a better idea than blaming women for being raped.

Yes.

You would be incredibly surprised by the number of people who honestly didn't understand importing large numbers uneducated, group of predominately males from religiously and culturally regressive countries wasn't going to have any effect whatsoever.

Like fair enough the people who considered the trade off worth it for saving the refugees or whatever, but there are people who literally thought the latter criticism was just racism.

Maybe they were hoping the immigrants would behave because they're in the country that "saved" them. I mean, it's pretty stupid to take up another country's offer of protection and then attack the citizens of that country, it's like biting the hand that feeds you.

I just commented in another thread about how strange it is that opposition to bringing in refugees keeps coinciding with the statement that the refugees are majority male. (Adult males are only 23% of the refugee population.)

No, but not because of this particular group. Because these sorts of things happen all the time and people from all sorts of groups do this. These people should be arrested because they committed a crime, but other Muslims and immigrants shouldn't be judged by their actions.

Yeah I'm wondering how the rate of this sort of thing among these immigrants compares to the rate among other groups. I wonder if this is that thing where some criminals are given the luxury of people assuming some individual reason behind their crimes and others have everything reduced to a group they belong to.

It's a 5 hour voluntary class that's doesn't seem to be offered everywhere (yet at least). From the picture used about the same thing in the New York Times it doesn't seem to be a very full class.*

It's a small step, but it will by no means be a miracle solution.
