Also re: Brawl. I don't talk about it EVER. i just play until my eyes water. ;) (And yes, Sonic is kickass!)

Seriously, have you ever heard of the comic? Besides, I've watched VforV and read 1984 and I love them both. As far as VforV goes though... can't people enjoy the version that actually has a happy ending? 1984 is amazing but it's also depressing and utterly fucked up.

19. Otomen has 4 volumes now. I own them. I want the manga to be licensed in the US so badly.

39. For me, the definitive version is Mickey's Christmas Carol. I know it's extremely petty, but I was always very disdainful towards my friends saying the Muppet version was their one and only.

TB!1. I wish that wasn't the case, and I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. Honestly, I personally wish there were more female characters in the game (o hay, maybe I should app one like I keep thinking I should durr hurr...)--it's getting a bit full of male characters lately, but they're the popular characters, and it's who people are apping right now.

Although, maybe it's the curses or the events or the feel of the game? I'm not sure why you feel this way, since I'm not in your shoes or your perspective, but if there's anything that can be done, I really hope you'll make some suggestions or talk about it. I know I want it to be a fun game, and I'm sure the other players feel the same.

Ugh, page 7. I hope the OP sees this.

[identity profile] ldkirby.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
37 - Uh, yeah. What character? Almost his whole character is fanon. Not that that's a bad thing, but seriously.

5, 8

[identity profile] nuclearpez.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
05) I'm actually as upset as you are because I like sonic. Sega is just destroying what he once was.

08) I agree but its a game based on fanservice. Of course people will love it.

[identity profile] bolshevists.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
09. Haven't seen the movie, but I wouldn't quite consider the book a "lame remake" of 1984. It's a genre, and they're all similar--but that doesn't constitute a remake or ripoff. I'm going to do some assuming here, and assume that 1984 is the only dystopic novel that you've read? Because you'll find similar themes in "Brave New World", "Fahrenheit 451", "Anthem", and so on. And 1984 wasn't even the first book in that genre--Orwell himself admits getting the idea from "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin.

[identity profile] anogete.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
09) Because of your secret, I'm going to assume that you have never read the graphic novel by Alan Moore. It is amazing and ground-breaking. It was one of the first comics that was presented in a cinematic sense instead of a more kiddish sense. It delves deeply into paranoia and the idea of an anti-hero. I believe the movie did this quite well, too. I have few complaints, and those I do have are minor. The movie and graphic novel tackled a very sensitive subject: can a terrorist be a freedom fighter. I believe there are similarities between V for Vendetta and 1984, but I think it is very rash and childish to make such a bold claim that discounts V as a knock-off. That's just not the case, and I find it rather sad that you can't see that. Your secret makes me peg you as the wanna-be-intellectual who happened to read 1984 in 11th grade and believes all of those stupid movie lovers have obviously never read a book. Well, we have. And we still don't agree with you. Sorry, try again.

[identity profile] aditou.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Seconded.

18. Yeah. That'll happen.

We the people of F!S need a new "I'd hit it like ___________" slogan.

I'd hit it like a nail? a baseball? like a pimp hits a ho?

22. That's a lot of tapping. Your fingers would get tired.

36. Wuh-wuh-WHY?!

9

[identity profile] darkdork13.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
I read and loved 1984, but I also love V for Vendetta and though I wouldn't call it life-changing, I did think it was deep and thought-provoking. Plus, 1984 didn't have the 1812 Overture and a sexy masked anti-hero. (Don't ask me how a masked guy can be sexy because I can't figure it out either. I just accept it for what it is.)

Nice placement of 14 and 15.

12. WHY are there so many secrets like this? What is the point of pretending to like some dumb fandom thing when you actually dislike it? I mean... what do you think your f-list is going to do to you if you tell?
16. Maybe. Sadly ;_;

Also... there seem to be a lot of TF secrets today ♥

[identity profile] phnix-daft-mode.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
52)Lol, best secret ever.

11.

[identity profile] ramjet.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you're really adamant on this...

I say no if it's a girl, end of story. If it's a boy, I say make it's middle name Optimus Prime. Give it some sort of normality with a common (or uncommon for all I care) first name. Then you can call it Optimus Prime if he pisses you off...in your best Megatron voice.

Then again, the fangirl in me is screaming, "Do it! Do it!" >:

LOL. Not OP, but is this your first time encountering Goatse? This is pretty tame compared to the uncensored version.

13. True that. They are being whiny little tarts nowadays. I really thought, at the beginning, that they were different, but they aren't. They went the same way as everyone else. The sad thing is that I'm still debating whether or not to buy the album. I only waited two and a half years for it.

OP 13

(Anonymous) 2008-03-24 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly.
I would suggest not going out and buying it right away, if only because you might be disappointed. Find the songs on youtube or download and decide if you think its worth the money.

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
9. Oh, okay. So anyone who likes a work of fiction similar to another is automatically a mouth breather? And as I'm sure has been said to death already, try reading the graphic novel before you insult it, please.

If you start insisting that every dystopian sci-fi work fails if it's similar to another one, then you run out of anything to read or play or watch or like.

31. IAWTC so much oh man. I actually read CC once, because it looked funny and was linked on 4chan. But like so many other webcomics with characters who seem to have potential, the author just doesn't have the sort of dedication to it to pull it off. I find it a shame, but there's always other webcomics that will actually update.

[identity profile] i-trust-snape.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
09. OMG thank you. I 100% agree. I am so sick of people acting like that movie is the deepest most intelligent commentary on society ever. It's a total ripoff.

45. I think those feelings are normal.

[identity profile] texmas.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
09. Yeah, well, you also trust Snape.

[identity profile] speccygeekgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
9. V for Vendetta was an amazing cartoon. Judge it on its original work, not on the movie.

13. Have you never heard of musical evolution? For god's sake, this is their second album. If you want your artists to never ever change, go listen to a band that's only put out one album.

20. Totally true, domesticity is so much better (and more satisfying!)

52. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
