39. I watched that film over and over and over. I still can't watch any other version without hearing the lines in his voice. It took me YEARS to figure out that he wasn't really Scrooge, but an actor playing him.

Too Big 7. YES!

Guess what? I thought the game sucked epic balls. :) And I played through the entire thing.

What does this mean!?!?!111one one

It means others will have a different opinion than you.

Now get off the internet and come back when you've grown up some.

01. If Setzer were a hot Indian guy, fuck yeah.
09. What if I read 1984 years and years beforehand (of my own free will, too, and not because we were supposed to for school or anything) and still loved the movie? Or do I not exist?
18. I lol'd.
24. Okay, I HATE it when people block comments on posts like that. But at the same time, everyone's entitled to their opinion, ya know?
36. what
37. ...isn't that the one who barely has a role? How can you like or dislike him?
48. YAY TENTACLE PR0N. :D
Too Big 2. Who would?

tb!3: I love you, too. I also completely agree. I hate it when somebody I admire turns out to be a douchebag (Why, Kramer, why?).

09. I've read 1984 three times. I also loved V for Vendetta. In point of fact, the two works, though both distopian in nature, are vastly different. The distopian totalitarianism is merely a vehicle for social commentary, and both clearly set out to comment on different social ills. The fact that you don't recognize that makes me think that YOU are an idiot. Or, at the very least, weren't paying a lot of attention. Furthermore, V fo Vendetta was considerably more hopeful for the future than 1984, and I find it to be exactly what I need when I'm feeling particularly cynical and depressed.

tl;dr You're wrong.

12. What is with all the elitist assholes today?

14. So? They make their money, the fans get their fodder. Everybody's happy.

20. Gotta say, Matt/Mohinder totally eclipsed Mylar for me. Especially since the events of season 2.

22. Ahahaha...win.

35. Absolutely, 100% with you on this one.

40. I would totally read that.

42. Maybe they just don't like the idea of him getting lung cancer, heart disease, or emphysema. I know he's just a fictional character, but for a lot of people he's sort of like a loved one. You want your loved ones to live as long as possible. (Both my sister and my brother are smokers, and I get on their case about it all the time.)

45. At least you realize that it's irrational. God knows how many time I've fantasized about having a time machine so I could stop things from happening to family members and friends.

Can you elaborate? Which events, and how did they change your views on which of the pairings?

8. I have to agree. I don't even touch any video game fandoms, but both online and in real life, people won't shut up about it.

11. Optimus is cool, but I officially feel bad for your child.

39. I love that version. <3

51. I certainly don't like the English version better, but it introduced me to the series, and before I knew about the real version, I thought "Cardcaptors" was a pretty entertaining show.

8. I'd say I agree, but I've never played it and don't really have much intention to do so. Maybe it is awesome, but I feel like I must be one of the few people who owns a Wii and yet doesn't have any interest in Brawl.

24. I liked the game enough to play through it twice (mainly for the gameplay), but I still take the piss out of it. It doesn't even look like that original post was hating on it too harshly -- over reaction much?

20) I agree SO HARD. Domesticity will ALWAYS trump hotness in competing ships, for me. It boggles the mind. I thought Sylar and Mohinder were the hotshit, and then came the M3 family unit and BYE.

Sooooo this is where the Mylar fans have gone. I seriously JUST realized this is where everyone ran off to.

Young Adult fantasy by Tamora Pierce - definitely get ahold of the audiobook (there are torrents, I believe) - because it's pretty long and has much more of a punch as an aduio than it does as a paper-book.

And I swear to god they're the same kind of cop - not the same kind of character, mind, but there's mutual loyalty to the law and to justice and similar ways of working as an officer and just -- I watched dS after I'd listened to Terrier and thought, "Oh my god, it's Beka in a Mountie suit."

48. Orihime is adorable and Orihime is hot, but non-con involving her just makes me sad. It's like Bertie Wooster or Tamaki--you just don't do that to fuzzy sweet innocent characters like that. ;_; (This is why the world needs more consensual tentacle porn.)

OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-23 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww. See, it's something I find to be incredibly sad and not hot at all when it's written out as realistic rape -- but I'm talking mainly in terms of visual media, and using "tentacle-rape" as an umbrella term for all the pictures where there's no context as to whether or not it's consensual. With Orihime I think it's definitely better when she looks like she's enjoying herself, and... yeah, pretty much, I agree with you.

'sides, that girl is whacky enough that she'd totally do it consensually in... well, in the appropriately bizarre circumstances, whatever they may be.

9. I loved that movie. And yeah, I've read 1984, Brave New World, the Wriginal V comic...etc. Why does something have to be a rip off just because it shows a new example of the same theme? Orwell et al were writing about communism and fascism when they were important concerns. Moore was writing about Thatcher and nuclear war leading to fascism. Different origins, similar outcomes, semi didactic themes. The film itself became Americanised, because the US was one of the world's greatest concerns. Using the same themes, and worrying about the same things isn't stealing. Deal.
52. I snorted so hard after all those 'srs' secrets. XDDDD
