no, I don't know what "dentricles" are.

I do, however, know what denticles (http://www.elasmo-research.org/education/white_shark/scales.htm) are (thank you, freshman biology lab), and I'm unimpressed. Maybe on a Great White they would be painful, but all the ones I've touched felt like fine sandpaper.

Although I don't know who the character in question is, I don't see that having textured hands is exactly a turn-off!

I've learned that a great deal of Animorphs fans did the same things, and a lot of them are even -still- participating in fandom ... All through this community. Really, it's the only place I've seen Animorphs since I was twelve.

02. KH canon is really just shitty Disney/Final Fantasy crossover fanfic with OCs that I didn't find the least bit compelling. I only made it about halfway through the first game.

I'll admit that I don't actually partake in fandom, so I don't know its ins and outs (though I'm a huge nerd for canons that have fandoms and I've learned a lot by watching F!S) but it seems to me that there's quite a big difference between fandom and religion. Most people in fandom, despite and obsessions or fantasies, understand that they're dealing in fiction. Religious people legitamately think that their holy works are talking about facts. Religious canon doles out hundreds of commands. Fandom canon has, at most, a loose parable that makes one lifestyle suggestion.

14. I don't understand the appeal of genderswap Haruhi. Haruhi's actions in female form make her seem quirky and eccentric, if not fairly crazy. Haruhi's actions, should she have been male, would have been lecherous, misogynistic, and just downright creepy. I guess my double-standard is different than yours.

47. The cheesiness of Horatio is at least half the fun of CSI: Miami. Who takes him seriously? I certainly don't.

57. As I said in my response to 7, I'm not a fandom participant, but...Shouldn't it be possible to ship a pairing without thinking it's hot? Can't people write cute gen romance fic about them? I mean, old couples can be really cute, there's nothing wrong with them. I guess an interest in old people sex is mildly creepy, but...I dunno.

59. Sometimes I find it bizarre how much fluff is in DN fandom, since the series is so nihilistic and fucked up at its core. But I still like both the mindfuck and the fluff, anyway. I think that for some people, the fluff is a wish fulfillment - the characters really are so fucked up that they just want to see them happy somehow, even if it's just in their own little fantasy world.

But I will agree - too much of the fluff can be really grating.
