(To be fair, the game has surprisingly few racist jokes. I'm just giving that as an example.)

I haven't seen that, but everything I have seen of South Park has felt dumb and distasteful, and generally too absurd to actually be funny. I really did not enjoy it, and don't get the popularity.

I think general consensus is that it is funny and you might either not like gross and/or absurd things and are thus an outlier.

Of course, I don't get why Family Guy is so popular either, but it's way more fucked up than South Park is and usually doesn't have a message, and if it does, they screw it up so bad, I wonder why they bothered to try. But what can you expect from manatees.

I kinda feel the same way...?

I remember a few summers ago, I was bored af and I marothoned all of the airing seasons, (around 100-something episodes) and I only remember laughing out load a handful of times.
I don't think its the worst show ever and if does have its good points, but it's kinda too 2edgy4u for my taste.
Also, almost all of its hardcore fans are obnoxious as hell.

You thought after almost 20 years that South Park said anything against that stuff? Matt and Trey are libertarians and think it's funny to make fun of everyone and everything. They've gone after several religions, say Mormons are the only Christians to get into Heaven (all while saying their religion is bullshit), Satan is relatable as fuck, Al Gore believes in manbearpig, said Prius owners are smug assholes who like sniffing their own farts, Stan's dad is Lorde. There's also the episode 'Death Camp of Tolerance" in which Mr. Garrison does depraved shit in front of his students (like sticking a gerbil into Mr. Slave's ass) in order to get fired for being gay so he could sue and get bank, all while showing the people visiting and working for a tolerance museum are hypocrites for harassing someone for smoking a cigarette outside the building nowhere near a door.

They killed of Chef horribly because his voice actor got butthurt over them making fun of Scientology (he is a member of it), and I'm pretty sure Chef was a much liked character to boot.

My favorite episode is the one where the adults in town get into a kidnapping hysteria which ends with them sending their children away because most abductions are by parents, so they think it is the only way their kids will be safe.

Lmao, I own a Prius. And as a nerdy white girl I'm sort of tickled that I apparently fit into a demographic South Park has specifically made fun of. (Well. I'm also religious, but not Mormon?)

They killed of Chef horribly because his voice actor got butthurt over them making fun of Scientology (he is a member of it), and I'm pretty sure Chef was a much liked character to boot.

His name is Isaac Hayes.

And while he did get butthurt over the jabs, it's not the reason he left. He was forced to leave due to Scientology's batshit crazy rules (I'm assuming shortly after that episode, Matt and Trey ended up on their list of people that scientologists are not allowed to talk to).

And he's no longer a member. He died a few years ago as well.

I loved the whole episode where they tried to get Tom Cruise out of the closet. It is near and dear to my heart in ways I can't explain.

Also The Return of the Lord of the Rings to the Two Towers Video Store.
