I think it will make more money. Lasting popularity, I'm not so sure about. Lots of high profile movies with big stars make giant box office opening days... before everyone realizes it sucks.

Eh it's a reboot in the sense they're trying to make a cinematic universe based on the classic horror films. It's not the same world or characters.

I refuse to see it. I like Russel Crowe, but I hate Tom Cruise. And since it's not gonna be a fun period piece Indiana Jones knock off film, I refuse.

Speaking of Indian Jones knock off...I really wish there had been more fanfic crossing these two films with Indiana Jones. I always saw Rick and Evie as like...Indy's mentors. I mean, these films were set in the, what, late 1910s and early 1920s where as Indiana Jones as in the late 1930s? They are RIPE for crossovers.

Now that I see a mention of this idea, I agree. The nearest I have seen in actually fanfic was a passing mention of Rick and Evie's family in a Harry Potter/Indiana Jones crossover, as a rival archeologist family.
