40: One of my friends drew an RPS comic of me and some other people (it was gen, though), and I thought it was pretty funny despite being extremely unflattering (to all of us). If a stranger wrote about me I'd probabbly not care at all, or be incredibly amused. It's not like anyone is going to think that it's a true story.

Funny story: A member of Dir en grey once said that he wished people didn't write him so stupid in fanfic (in the Japanese fandom). It wasn't the fanfic he minded - he just wanted to be in character...

TB!3: Damn, writing as a hobby has an age limit? Or is it the use of already existing characters that is the problem? In that case, a good part of published fiction would fall into that category, you know.

OH MY GOD. In all years I've been on LJ, I never, ever expected to see a TDD!Secret. I used to be a member a few years ago, and TDD changed my life- it helped shape me to be the person I am today. This board made me more open-minded about pairings and made me love crack. ^^ I realise that this doesn't really have much to do with your secret, OP, but I just wanted to show my thanks to all the members there too. The Dancing Dove board really is a fantastic place. <3

At my last job, I used frak and frell constantly. (Freak, flip, fudge, and monkeys are also favorites.) There were no other fans around, and even when I explained the fandom words to my supervisor, she gave every indication that she thought it was cute rather than offensive.

I say, if you feel like you need to curse, and cursing with real swear words will probably cause you trouble, it's good to have some fake ones available.

#54 -- This secret reminded me of the waaaaay back times when I first started reading Naruto, when scanslations where the shiny new magic of the internet and you still bought fansub tapes....

Well, long story short: When I first started reading Naruto I thought InoShikaCho was an all girl team for whatever reason (Kishimoto makes androgynous characters, what can I say?). It wasn't until the Chuunin Exams (I think) that I figured out that was not the case. I really think that speaks to how badly Kishimoto sucks at writing chicks. Girls in Naruto are boys with weak ankles and lip gloss.
