Plenty of women like dubcon.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Those women are sad and probably have self loathing issues.

What if they, like me, like dubcon where the woman is the dominant character, or where it is two people of the same gender doing the do?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's not what the OP secret is referring to though. They're shlicking it to a 15 year old getting raped by some creep.

So is it only underage dubcon that's male-on-female that bothers you? Because that's a very specific type of dubcon to be upset about and it's very silly to say that women who like dubcon, in general, as the person you responded to was saying, are sadsacks with emotional problems, and then act like it's irrational for someone to point out that the category is a bit wider than "underage male-on-female dubcon." Personally I find the scenario in the secret unappealing, but I can recognize that fiction != reality and that other people have different kinks.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well obviously male-on-female dubcon is going to bother me more than any other variation (though male-on-male dubcon has a lot of gross fetishization out there) because it's so intrinsically linked and normalized in society, to the point where it's widely assumed every woman wants some guy to just straight up rape them. Anon said "women like dubcon" in response to an anon saying men are scum to a secret that's talking about shlicking to an underage girl getting raped by Jafar. Jumping in with "oh wait, I like dubcon with dom women!!" is pointless, as anon is referring to the context of what is in OP's secret. Try to be less obtuse.

You don't seem to understand how sexual fantasies work. Or you're not a very creative troll.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Pssh, you gonna tell me your desire to get raped or see other women get raped and treated like shit doesn't come from somewhere else? Sexual fantasies have routes, anon, usually coming from deep seated issues. Not to mention, your dubcon/noncon shit is the reason so many men rationalize that literally all women want to get raped.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Look, we all know you're secretly fapping yourself raw over rape fic. It's ok, nonny. It doesn't make you a bad person. But keep projecting your guilt onto the rest of us if it makes you feel better.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I hope someday you figure out why you find it hot when women get brutalized and dehumanized, anon. Maybe that's when you'll stop hating yourself and get self respect. Though with all this deflecting you're doing, it's probably too late for you. Toodles.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
DA This is cheap. People can have genuine objections you know. Which may make you feel uncomfortable, but hey. Tough.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
New anon, here, and I too find the fantasy described in this secret creepy and messed up. And I find it really weird and unnerving that you're so out of touch with reality that when someone expresses disgust with a sexual fantasy involving underage rape, you don't believe their disgust is genuine.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
My dad enjoys reading sci fi and spy thrillers, but I promise you he doesn't actually want to endure the discomforts of space travel OR engage in espionage.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
kek sexual fantasies are a whole different beast from just simply finding interest in a genre. Nice reaching though.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Why, though? Do you think people who like violent video games are inherently more violent or apt to violence?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Some are. Sexual shit is influenced by a lot of outside factors, some of which are dubious. Especially societal expectation of women's sexuality that has been beaten into us (that women are all intrinsically submissive, don't know what they want, prefer to be ravaged/raped, etc.). Pretending these factors don't exist is disingenuous and naive.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
When I was eight years old I had intense and detailed lesbian bdsm fantasies, and I could not have had a more normal upbringing. I didn't watch anything that had explicit sexual content, nor did I read anything that did, they were just there and I enjoyed them. Talking to a lot of my friends, it's the same: their fantasies had been around since they were children. Non-traumatized children, I might add.

I'm not saying that you don't have any point at all, but you're heavily biased. It sounds like you have issues with entirely normal sexual self-exploration, and I genuinely hope that you're able to come to terms with them without passing any more judgment on people that don't deserve it.

You're the one who seems to believe that women don't know what they want, anon. You're insisting on it even. And we, the ones who recognize that there's a big difference between liking something in fiction and wanting it in reality, are somehow the ones with the problem?

DA

Considering the vast quantity of romance novels from the seventies with titles like The Sheikh's Captive Bride and whatnot, I'd be careful pointing fingers.

At least these days dubcon is acknowledged as a kink, instead of 'that's just how romance stories go'.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
I think you've got the wrong decade. The vast quantity of romance titles in the '70s are much more florid and fanciful: A Kiss from Satan, Leopard in the Snow, Tender Torment, The Flame and the Flower, etc. There was a Johanna Lindsey book Captive Bride which did feature a sheikh, but the boring, what-it-says-on-the-tin titles (e.g. Bought for the Tycoon’s Advantage) are a more recent development.

(Sorry, my bad.)

(It's fine! I apparently have a lot of feelings about the history of publishing romance novels.)

Late to the party, but I hope you realize the irony in pretending to defend women's rights by policing what they can or can't think about. In their fantasies, none other.

The relationship between fantasy and real life behavior is complicated, yes, but dubcon fantasies are within the realm of normal human experience (I have refs if you want the). What you are saying is the same as "a woman should not have a bdsm relationship with a man because it perpetuates oppressive social dynamics". Of course, policing what women do in bed is the solution, not educating everyone as to how Fantasy is powerful tool to safely explore scenarios which are not a good idea IRL, and as to WHY they are not a good idea IRL.

I don't know, I think telling everyone that they subconsciously hate themselves for having dubcon fantasies is incredibly shallow and helps no one?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-22 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not defending women's rights, I never claimed or even pretended to be doing so. I've been speaking entirely for myself. I still think less of the women who get off to this shit and assume they do suffer from some self loathing, there's no way they wouldn't be. Getting aroused at being told you're nothing but a worthless fuckhole while getting raped is just fucked up. And I will always be frustrated that I'm forever lumped into that same mold by virtue of being a woman.

Ah, sorry then. Since you were talking about collectives, I mistook your point as a political view.

Do you apply this literally also with other forms of kink and violence in fiction? Say, when somebody writes a violent story, do you think that translates into a repressed wish for violence automatically? Or do you think that someone with a femdom kink secretly hates men?

I obviously disagree with your point of view, but I don't mean to troll or flame you - I just mean to understand where you're coming from. For what it's worth, I hardly think that anybody fantasizing about rape focuses on the psychological and physically damage that would come with rape IRL. That's the thing about fantasy, it's safe, it goes exactly as you want.
