That's good to hear.

Nah you totally need a truck, you just don't know it yet.

Heh. I think most people have boring lives with occasional spots of exciting bits. I know I do! Planning on cooking anything in particular?

The Wedding Singer showed that Adam Sandler could be a respectable (if not great) actor...if he could get out of his formula. Most of his following movies have shown he has little to no desire to do so, unfortunately.

A truck is basically like saying, "Yes, please ask me to help you move things."

Re: How much time do you spend online?

[personal profile] nightscale 2017-08-19 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Too much probably.

The longest I've gone without it is probably a week, for like holidays and stuff where I can't always access it(depending on where I've gone).

Re: How much time do you spend online?

I don't know as far as actual amounts of time, but a lot. I have a lot of downtime at work, so on days when my coworker isn't there (when she is we talk during slow periods) I'm always online when I don't have anything else to do, generally looking at news news, entertainment news, a few subreddits I like, and a couple random sites I follow.

I spend a lot of time outside of work online, too, although it's usually for a specific purpose rather than just wasting time like when I'm at work (researching some thing I want to buy, online shopping, reading reviews/looking for recs of books to read, looking for more info on some topic I'm interested in, etc.)

The only times I've gone without semi-recently are when I was petsitting for my parents (who live in the middle of nowhere and don't have internet) but they don't have pets anymore so I haven't done that in awhile.

What is something you think kids two generations from now just won't understand?

So kids that would be your grandkids if you had children.

Good on you, OP.

Controlled exposure to triggers -- key word controlled -- is a legitimate therapeutic technique. And that's what you did, by choosing when to temporarily unhide these posts, and how long to leave them available before re-hiding them.

If the Tumblr purity brigade hadn't existed, you could've found other places with triggering content and used the same technique there. So they truly don't deserve any credit. This was all you.

You mean you don't want people constantly asking you to help them move stuff??

I imagine they're a bit harder to drive as well? (I know nothing about automobiles tbh, other than that they require fuel to run).

LOL, some nutter on Teh_Dunald (which hit my feed because they love using LGBTQ keywords as insults) was crowing about how it's all part of some master plan. The Onion ran with a similar idea.

Trucks are usually bigger which can make them harder to drive.

Maybe dial-up. My cousins, who are in elementary and middle school, kinda get it, but they still can't wrap their heads around waiting half an hour for a YouTube video to load.

I just looked mine up and it'll be 99.8. GOOD 'NUFF! ;D I bet 89% will also be pretty darn stunning.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-19 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm really glad for you, OP

Re: Weekend Plans!

I don't know what I'll do with the chicken yet. I have some Thai peanut sauce in the fridge so I will probably do chicken and veggies over rice with sauce. I also have half a jar of curry simmer sauce to use up, so I think I'll use that first, still with veggies and rice.

I have eclipse glasses, but the pinhole thing definitely works. A friend of mine got to see a total eclipse in Mexico years ago and he said the little holes in people's straw hats projected crescents down onto their shirts. There was a partial eclipse on Christmas day a while back and I had wanted to try it, but my brother actually set up a small telescope with some kind of a filter so I didn't bother (it was also kind of cloudy, but with a thin layer of cloud and I could quickly glance at the sun and actually see the partial disk without just seeing a blinding light - probably wasn't a good idea, but I only took a few quick looks).

Physical news. Even now newspapers and magazines are becoming obsolete. ESPECIALLY newspapers.

Is it just me?

I understand why people might express discomfort regarding ships yhay feature characters in their late teens (16/17) being shipped with characters older than their mid-20's (25 or older), especially if there's other dynamics present that create a power imbalance. But a 17 y/o and a 25 y/o may be an unhealthy and unethical relationship, but it isn't pedophilic. Like I'm not trying to be one of those people who says "it's not pedophilia once she's 14, then it's ephibiophilia and therefore less bad!!!!" But we can't just decide to change words definitions so we can say we think that something is "really, really bad."

Uh. Hm. I guess most of the time when I'm not asleep.

Sometimes I'll get a new book or video game and then I'll be that time offline.

...I should probably get new books more often.
