Re: Hamlet

Why? Lots of stories hang on one mistake or scene that all other mistakes can be traced back too. It's related to the whole concept of hamartia.

It is important to quantify the badness of all things and only care about the very baddest thing, to care about any of the lesser bad things would be bad.

A very strong argument anon and definitely how the world should work. My ways are changed.

Sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you, I was busing rubbing my face and body into Riker's beard

Wait wait wait, can you claim charity donations made in your name by other people for tax deductions? Because the receipts will make things very easy to itemize, and since I tend to hate most physical gifts other people get for me... I have to go find out about this immediately!

I was underwhelmed.

How did I not realize where they were setting this in the timeline? The mutiny angle was kind of interesting. The whole first act was baffling if they were really supposed to have been working together for so long - them not trusting each other, the first officer not paying attention for long enough for them to make that symbol, the remark about sarcasm, the way the science officer and first officer interact. Maybe I missed something.

Point.

I still see some slight wank about it here and there, though.

The future is Dutch (angles).

I liked it, enough to take a gamble on later episodes (it helps that I already watch Elementary, which may tip the "all access" equation a bit). Star Trek pilots usually have some rough spots.

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2017-09-26 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh goodness yes, I hate seeing all my Facebook friends' prettier selfies. I just put my hand up in front of someone's phone, like, "I'm Quasimodo, bitch! I don't want to be seen!"

A book for small-breasted women.

A t-shirt with Warner Brothers characters on it...when I was 24 years old...from my mother...who then complained over 10 years later: "Why are you wearing a shirt with cartoon characters on it, you're a grown woman!?" because she fucking forgot she bought me it for Christmas!

OP

(Anonymous) 2017-09-26 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
The dances are my favorite part. :)

You beat this Yank to a reply!

But...aren't Whoppers more malt-flavored than Maltesers?

Re: What is the worst gift you've received?

(Anonymous) 2017-09-26 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to LOVE Whoppers when I was young!

*Correction!*

(Anonymous) 2017-09-26 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I meant to specifically write Looney Tunes instead of Warner Brothers!
