I'm sure SOME people who claim to be asexual really are. But (read: everyone who's going out of their way to go OMG I AM SO NORMAL I JUST DON'T LIKE SEX when it's suggested that gasp, shock, some people might be lying to get attention on the Internet) who go waving the ASEXUAL banner around just need something to feel special about.

My sexuality has been up for debate since I was fourteen. Eventually I came out as bisexual when I was seventeen years old, thanks to The L Word making me feel comfortable about it. Eventually I moved into the unknown water of lesbianism while still keeping my mind open. Only recently did I discover that its not sexual anything, really. I just found the female form to be enchantingy beautiful. In the end, I just want companionship, not attraction or sex.

Lesbianism is a poor-fitting moniker for my sexuaity, I think. I'm probably asexual, but I don't care, really.

Almost the same here. I usually say I'm bisexual because I do get aroused every now and then (by both males and females), but I'm perfectly content with just fapping. In all my relationships I never wanted anything sexual, just companionship. I wouldn't say I'm asexual because I do enjoy fapping, but...

People use the word "asexual" to mean a number of variations of the same theme, and a lot of them probably apply it to themselves incorrectly, but I don't see why that should bother you so much.
