Yeah, it's slang. The kanji is normally read like kateikyoushi, but the author has gone out of their way to have it pronounced as 'katekyo'.

Like how in Deathnote, Light is written with the kanji for moon, but pronounced as Light. People would call you retarded if you read the kanji literally and ignored the pronunciation there, it should be the same here.

Most translators let the furigana take precedence when it doesn't match the Kanji and note the difference on the side. It's rather common in Japanese song lyrics. A good set of romaji lyrics would include both the romaji of what's sung and what's written in the booklet and clearly indicate which is sung. For example, the kanji lyrics might say 宇宙 (uchuu) but you'd hear "sora" in the song.

147- He doesn't do what people want and I think there's not much more to it. He doesn't deify the characters they want, he doesn't write the ships they want, and he has the gall to write the characters acting like real people. He doesn't understand such important things such as "you earn love with awesome points" apparently and he dares to make the Doctor non-asexual because he's so always been (never mind the fact that the Doctor got engaged in one of the first serials of the series).

The guy is not perfect (Dobby Doctor lulwtf), but I find most of the complaints against him unfounded. Bad science for example? Yeah, Who has always had that and RTD is hardly the only writer to do it in NuWho. Yes, even the ridiculously overrated Steven Moffatt is guilty of it.

Take it to comments #4 - That is hardly fannish ignorance! There is nothing wrong with people wanted to see a variety in Yaoi. Nothing. There is nothing wrong with people sick of the stupid Seme/Uke stereotypes. Nothing. Seme/Uke was cute the first few times, but when almost every Yaoi has some "big strong seme protecting the small weepy uke", it gets tired as all out fuck. I'm reading YAOI now that has both male partners as equals, and I'm fully enjoying it because it's different from the norm.

And I will continue to voice my opinion on this while combing through Yaoi in my attempt to find a quality series (which is hard) -- at least until gei-comi is widely available (or the Yaoi that's similar is widely available -- if you did your research you would know it's also being produced).
