Don't sweat it. I haven't seen the movie yet myself but grew up watching the show on "Nick at Nite" and, if you laughed and thought the movie was funny, then I would have to say the movie lived up to the tv show's expectations, which is to be a light-hearted parody of secret agent dramas.

But do yourself a favor and watch the tv show now too. Don Adams is brilliant.

Where did they say anything about race? Yeah, both characters might be black (idk, not into HP so much) but OP never said that was their reasoning. OP never gave a reason at all. 147. Because he's a hit-or-miss writer, and I don't like his editorial direction. Some of his episodes have been great, but some of them have been straight-up awful. He doesn't seem to understand how to pace a two-parter, and he loves shoving in romantic plot where it doesn't really belong. I mean, I'm not opposed to romance, but he overdoes it like crazy. And his science is awful.

And yes, I realize that bad science has always been a part of Doctor Who. But rather than keeping it internally consistant and use the bad science in clever ways, like (for example) Moffat does, he just uses it as a Deus ex Machina to fix everything. The issue's not that it's playing silly buggers with the laws of physics, it's that he doesn't expend any effort to make it believable.

Oh, and I hate his Jesus!Doctor stuff. That shot of him ascending into heaven on the arms of two angels, in Voyage of the Damned? Hands-down the most obnoxious thing I have ever seen.

TITC#4: That is perhaps the dumbest thing I have ever seen someone say. You have failed the internet. Turn in your license.

Oh, I have an idea for a game! Let's come up with the worst episodes of New Who ever written and see how many of them were written by RTD.

For me it's a tie between Love and Monsters and The Lazarus Experiment. RTD was responsible for the former, but not the latter.

103. You and me both, anon. Without the internet slash culture (and, ironically, anime) I doubt I would ever have overcome my social conditioning to be prejudiced against gay people. I know there is always a dogpile of internet!scholars on anyone who ever claims that slash fandom does anything to combat homophobia, but balls to them - to those who are willing to listen it really does help open minds. Especially given the number of gays/bisexuals one tends to meet through fandom.

I was on the fence about this until I saw that a good number of Anonymous were willing to put their money where there mouth is, so to speak, and picket the streets for something they believed in. I understand that many people are taken aback by the abrasive attitudes on /b/, but if that applies to you don't visit /b/. Go for the porn, hobbies, net culture, etc.

You may have seen it on the website of your favourite Japanese fanartist; if you visit the J-internets at all you'll doubtless have noticed it floating around. Any guesses? It's a banner proclaiming the owner of the site to be fed up to the eyeballs with seme/uke bullshit, only more polite. Oh yes, many Japanese people are sick of the seme/uke stereotypes, they would like to see them die, and they even write essays and get wanky about it.

I happen to be an amateur translator, so if you'd like to send a message to the Japanese yaoi (by which you mean BL) fandom that they should stfu and accept these tropes as part of Japanese culture, I'd be more than happy to oblige.
