Elan Sleazebaggano became one of my favourite characters in the prequels after one of my favourite fanfic writers started involving him in her stories. You'd think it'd be hard to characterize someone who walked on and off the screen that quickly, but if there were a canon version of the character, I'd want it to be hers.

So, in short, much love for that character.

I think it's funny that with all the odd and crazy things that go on in fandom, the thing that always stumps me is that there are people who don't find Jeffrey Dean Morgan attractive. Every single time I come across this, I'm just "What? Really? How is this possible?"

117: I haven't been scared while watching TV since Babar's mum was killed when I was five, but those angels do freak me out a bit. So you're fine!

147: I think it depends on what you watch the show for. Personally, I love him (especially right now with these last few episodes!) and I can forgive Jesus!Tinkerbell!Doctor because after all, the show is for kids (not that I think it' suitable all the time, but that's another story). Maybe it was stupid, but it sent the right message and I appreciate that. Plus, I think he has exactly the right idea about things: this is a show about humanity, and putting it sort of through the eyes of an alien makes it that much better and more beautiful/tragic. RTD is fine in my books for everything he's done.

I know Star Trek is responsible for "slash", but I didn't know about "shipper". Is there any kind of convenient geekism site to back this up? Wiki gives credit to the X-philes, with their use of it dating back to 1996. However, I'm assuming that if ST were the original source, it'd be around in the bajillions of zines that were about, and the internet is good at ignoring zines. Hmmm.

147. Because he's the head writer of a science fiction show who can't be bothered to do a lick of research for his stories. Sometimes watching Doctor Who, I wonder if RTD has confused science fiction with fantasy. It's almost insulting to viewers who love sci-fi. As if we'll buy anything he presents to us because he uses the banner of "sci-fi" to cover up his lazy, lazy, very lazy writing.

Every time he paints himself in a story corner, he makes up some device or way to solve whole thing even if that bit goes against science.

Plus, his story lines are often flat and so full of holes that they can double up as pasta strainers.

His only saving grace is that he knows how to come up with characters. However; once he has created them, he often has no idea what to do with them.

In that story I wrote...the ship was taken over by various love gods. And there was this planet of love gods. There was a Jamaican love god, and a cupid, and a playboy bunny. And they got Jamaican hats and leis. And there was a huge party and lots of chocolate cake. And one of the chocolate cakes had Fabio in it. And I don't why I wrote Richard Simmons into it either. o_O;;;;;; That is the last time I drink Irish Coffee and am allowed near a computer. And I'm pretty sure I MAY have posted this goofy thing somewhere on the Intertubes...*

142. Even when I submit really dumb and wanky secrets that I realize are rather lame about a week later... it's always worth it just to get crap off my chest. F!s 4 lyfe, man.

I tend to be skeptical about 'em, but then I'm highly skeptical about peoples' announced fandom sexualities in general (ESPECIALLY when it doesn't add up with their activities - proclaimed asexuals writing lots of smut, lesbians writing nothing but m/m slash) but saying they're all lying is going a bit far.

I have a theory that a lot of people who claim sexuality X are really just confused and end up claiming the sexuality that seems most fitting at the time they said it. Things would be so much easier if 'questioning/confused' were an acceptable sexual orientation.

And before I attract wankbots, I say this because I've done it myself. :/
