There's one called Family Ghosts. I like it, but there's often no resolution - which I guess is true to life, but from a storytelling perspective, it can be disappointing.

In general, I'd like a lot of fan podcasts better if they didn't do this.

Jennifer: So Character goes to the 7-11...

Chloe: Oh! They just closed the 7-11 by my house.

Then Jennifer and Chloe will spend twenty minutes talking about all the stores in town that have closed. And then ten minutes later, they spend another several minutes talking about something else. I understand they're meant to be conversational, and am cool with a little interruption, but it can get annoying, which sucks when it's an otherwise great podcast.

Pretty much the only one I've ever listened to is Welcome to NightVale and I love it. I heard rumours they're making it into a TV show but if it doesn't have the voice case from the show I'm not sure if it'll hold my interest.

Metamashina! Discussions of genre (mainly sci-fi) fiction and cinema with emphasis on the female gaze. I love their podcasts on the Alien franchise and dissection (no pun intended) of the 2 new prequels. Their Star Wars stuff is great too.

There's been a few podcasts I've tried listening to that I couldn't because they all have an affected tone and volume at which they speak that grates on me. They speak too slowly and everything they say sounds like they're revealing secrets, when they're really just supposed to be conversationally giving me information or interviewing someone. A lot of them come of as pretentious, and I no longer care about the information they have.

All the ones I listen to just sound like normal people having a conversation.

I liked Within the Wires, the first season. I haven't listened to the second season yet. I liked Limetown but I haven't finished listening to that either.

I liked Welcome to Night Vale but I got way behind on it quickly and now there's no way I could ever catch up.

I'd like podcasts in general better if I could do other things and listen to them at the same time but I can't. If I don't just sit there and listen I miss words somehow or get confused. (This may be connected to the fact that my hearing isn't so great, which may be connected to the fact that I'm old and/or the fact that I have tinnitus.)

Good game but where's the rest of it? I finished this motherfucker in 2 days (and most of today I was playing my other new game Jotun. Jotun, by the way I started this morning and finished this afternoon. Short games, man, all these short games).

Anyway Short and with pretty wonky voice acting in parts (what can you expect for a kickstarted game?) but a fun game, nice mechanics, cool characters, solid story, and I have been waiting for more from this world since the last game on the PS1.

It's been a damn good weekend.

Advice? Applying for a job with no resume

This is so pathetic but I know I can't be the only one to ever have faced this. I'm in my 30s, bachelor's in English, haven't held down a job since my college days. Circumstances are such that I am looking for at least a part time job but I live in a small college town out in the middle of nowhere. I'm limited to less physically demanding work and could handle clerical or admin, but I don't have any references.

I haven't felt this hopeless and depressed since I was a teenager. If it weren't for the fact that my family would be devastated, I would just lie down and die. Even if you don't have any advice, thanks for listening, fs.
