Which deadfics do you miss?

Are thre any fics on hiatus or otherwise dead that you miss, or feel a little sad seeing them abandoned?

I can't really say.

Like, I go through my bookmarks on AO3 and I see that there's fics in there that have subsequently been deleted, but I don't remember enough to be sure what they are. So I know that there were fics, and I know that I probably really enjoyed them, and that they were probably really good, but I don't know anything about the details. It's very uncertain.

I highly doubt anyone will know what I'm talking about because these fics are old, but I always wished Arabella (of Sugar Quill fame/infamy) had finished her Hermione diaries. I can see why she didn't - she got a lot of wank which turned her off of fandom, but the diaries were also pre-OoTP, and didn't really fit with the new canon. Still, it would've been really interesting.

Not sure this counts, but I had a friend who was writing a fic she never finished, because she lost interest Harry Potter. (Also, new canon kept debunking her stuff, as she started writing it some time after the fourth book, and I believe gave up sometime between the sixth and seventh books.) Apparently the ending had a HUGE TWIST, which she wouldn't tell me in case she ended up finishing the fic after all. I still want to know how it was going to end. :P

We're Facebook friends, so I technically could ask her, but... we're pretty much JUST Facebook friends at this point - not for any dramatic reasons, we're just not teenage/early twenty-something Harry Potter fangirls anymore, and that's pretty much what we had in common. Honestly, she was pretty over Harry Potter last time we were talking regularly, so it's possible she's completely forgotten the twist. Either way, I don't think I can just PM her and be like "hey, about that fic you were writing back in 2003..." I think she'd either ignore me, or would have no idea what I was talking about.

Five years ago a little group of friends started a shared humanized AU for a cartoon and that was great for a few months... then the one who had started it all in the first place suddenly threw a hissy fit because someone had posted a bit she didn't liked and flounced out.
Annnd just when I thought I had finally let it all go, she came back, starting a shared Original universe with a different group of friends and letting them do what she called a mistake back in the days when we did it. Go figure!

There have been a couple of fics that were complete, but intended to be part of a series that the author I guess lost interest in finishing. As someone who avoids WIP fics, this is a big gripe of mine. Unsatisfying non-endings after reading a novel-length fic? Waaah.

Lots from old fandoms, like, things I read ten years ago maybe. But can I also say my own? I feel so guilty for this FMA epic I never finished, and a couple of fics for even older fandoms that never went past chapter #1.

I don't remember the title, but it was a Destiel fic with Dean as the angel and Cas as the human and Anna kinda playing the Sam role. I remember everybody was really in character and they were looking for Sam (who was an angel turned demon), but the author stopped updating after nine chapters and now I can't find it anywhere.

Yeah, about once a year or so I check back to Midnight Blue's Mirror of Maybe. Because, you know .... maybe.

Ozma's Filch focused Harry Potter fics. That is one of my favorite all time fic series, and I go back and reread it all the time.

Hurt/Comfort is my all time favorite. Gen or Shippy, Mental or Physical, Short or Long, idgaf. Just give me that hurt/comfort. I especially like it when it is a tough guy who is trying to hide he is hurting because he "has to be strong".
