There's set pics of him in his 2012 Avengers get-up so he's in a flashback or whatever at the very least (unless it gets cut of course.)

Honestly I'm not mad he died, it probably had to happen eventually really. But I AM mad at how shitty it was done...yet at the same time other Loki fans are making me hope he stays gone because the level of hysteria and delusion is annoying even me. I consider myself one of his biggest defenders (while also admitting he's still a little shit) but people saying his neck snapping was actually the gauntlet so he can't possibly be dead because his neck didn't break? People saying he performed some elaborate illusion even though NO illusion Loki has cast in the MCU has been solid/touched successfully by other characters? It's just getting too much.

I'd made peace with his death (even though I hated how it was done) and I don't think I can take another year of this!

Honestly...I love how he died. It reminded me of Anya's death in BTVS. There was nothing...'pretty' about it. It was brutal and really showed the cost of war.

I can actually appreciate that point of view because I DID like that he died a hero rather than a chronic backstabber like everyone (well, non-Loki fans) seemed to be desperate for him to do.

I think I just wish it had been later on and more of the other Avengers had got the opportunity to see this guy who fucked up their shit bizarrely being on their side now.

Also poor Thor. A lot of Loki fandom (the ones concentrating just on Loki) seems to be forgetting Thor in all this :(

YES, this is exactly what ran through my mind as well! It was a casualty and nothing else, which makes it all the more brutal.

Another version I could imagine apart from a flashback would be some time traveling shenanigans or something similar into the Avengers 1 timeline because that's the point when Thanos first started overtly messing with earth and there might be some Infinty stones related gambit to try and fix things.

But yeah, I agree with your comment so much.

I like to imagine Tony will get the gauntlet and rewind to: "I am Iron Man." But with full knowledge of what is coming and how to stop Thanos. It would be a poetic ending to stop where the entire franchise began, and exit on the cusp of a reboot multiverse.

I can't say I'd ever not be mad at Loki dying, but how early and brutal it was didn't sit well with me. Doesn't help that his death was a combo of two of my least favorite tropes (redemption death and fridging). I'm also mad we never got a Loki and Spider-man eating hot dogs scene. The MCU is 100% invalid now!

The theories don't bother me, but they do make me sad for the people who earnestly believe in them. You're just setting yourselves up more heartbreak, my dudes. That petition, on the other hand, pisses me off a little because all petitions are dumb and useless.

Absolutely I try not to get mad at people who are just being hopeful but it's a bit full on (the petition is my main gripe!)

I honestly think whatever part he plays in A4 it won't be Loki as he was in 2018. The Russos have not said anything that suggests to me they particularly care for the character so I'm doubting they have some elaborate plan for him.

I also hated that he was fridged. Really pissed me off. I hope they do bring him back but by changing the timeline. Or alternate universe Loki would be cool (as long as he's still played by Tom).

Loki wasn't fridged. He's not female. He also wasn't killed to motivate anyone -- no one requires further motivation to go against Thanos.

Honestly I'm stunned anyone incorporates all of the recent films into their personal headcanon at this point. I haven't watch any of the Avengers followups and I cherrypick the shit out of the handful of solo movies I watch

All I hear is people complaining about how they're poorly conceived, overstuffed movies with stupid plots and inconsistent, often OOC writing. Why torture yourself trying to justify and make sense of it all when you could do what fans of comic books have been doing for decades?

I'll be surprised if he doesn't come back. Actually, I know what they've said, but I'll be surprised if any of the IW deaths turn out to be permanent. The permanent deaths will be in Avengers 4 (Steve most likely, and maybe Tony).

It's possible that the disintegration deaths won't stick but all the ones before will. But in that case, it's Gamora I'd be mad about. Loki should stay dead.

The disintegration deaths for sure won't stick. I don't think there's any doubt about that.

I know there's varying opinions about the pre-snap deaths, but I personally think they'll all be back. For sure, Gamora. Pretty for sure Loki. Not quite as confident on Heimdall/Asgardians, but my current theory is that it's all going to be reversed, so...them too.

I feel the same about Gamora, kinda. I love, love, LOVE Gamora with every inch of my soul, but the scene where her death took place was so epic and my favourite scene in the movie. Zoe's acting was incredible. Selfishly, I'd like to see the strength of that hold up with her staying dead.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be pissed to see her come back. I'd welcome it, actually.
