It's things like this that make me heave a sigh of relief. I only get them once a year or so, but it's always an EVENT. A very very painful event. A very very painful "oh god how much more can come out of this" event.

Wow @ all of you talking like this is common, been having a period for nearly 20 years and I had no idea that was a thing. :o

Are we talking exacerbated acne or friction sores in creases, or full on spontaneous boils?

Okay this seems really random but I hate it when Indian cookbooks tell you to caramelize a bunch of onions and claim that it'll take 20 minutes. LIES. It can take twice that amount of time depending on how many you're trying to caramelize. If you try to do it in 20 minutes, you're going to burn your onions.

And don't start with that bullshit of adding sugar to your onions to speed up the process, either.

I was reading something somewhere about how caramelizing onions takes a while and most recipes - not just Indian ones - really low-ball the amount of time required. I don't remember if the article speculated as to why. I know that just because a recipe is printed in a book or posted online doesn't mean it's perfect, thoroughly tested, and without typos, but the time given caramelizing onions specifically appears to be wrong a lot of the time.

My god, when I caramelize onions for french onion soup that shit takes at least two hours to get to the level of golden brown I desire.

My father lives across the country from all of his kids (we all moved away). I love him, but he is a shitty adult (not bad but just can't handle money). He is 63 with no job and is eligible for disability. He had it for a month then they found out he had a motorcycle in his name so it was stopped.

This month I had to send him a care package of food (canned good and such). And now he is telling my sister he has like $800 in fees on his license and a $112 power bill.

I told my sisters (and him) he should sell his house and move someplace closer to family (either us or his side of the family) so we can help him easily. But they are all, "It isn't that easy!!!" "He has lived there forever!!!" "You can't give someone an ultimatum!!!!!!"

They act like I am being unreasonable. But if push comes to shove and one of us has to loan him money, it will be me.

If he won't help himself by SELLING A FUCKING MOTORCYCLE so he can get on disability, or move, why should I be the one pressured into constantly giving him money?

So last fall I met this guy in a class, and we would talk before class, and I got a crush on him. End of semester we exchanged numbers and started talking outside of class, and went out a couple times. I really, really liked him. Thought he liked me. Then suddenly he stopped talking to me and I found out it was because he decided to date someone else. Which hurt, but i was getting over it since I never saw him anymore. But I forgot I followed him on Instagram (he didn't post anything for a long time) and today I was unexpectedly greeted in Insta by a video he posted of him and his sister on vacation. So now i feel sad about it again. I need to unfollow him, but that will require me to go into my list of followed people and see his stupid cute face again and I don't want to do that right now :(

I'm trying to do twin French braids and the braid on my left is perfect, but the braid on my right is wonky and my arms are actually getting tired from redoing it over and over again.

I recently had an enormous burst of creative output, which lasted about 2 months, but then it fizzled out, and now I'm crashing hard. I can't get excited about anything or make up my mind about any ideas, and I feel like it will never come back to me.

Got my anxiety breaths going on. Sometimes I get this thing where I constantly feel like I'm not able to take a deep enough breath. I know that doesn't sound awful but it lasts for days (sometimes weeks). I often induce yawns to force a deep breath which eventually causes my throat to hurt and gives me headaches (sometimes lightheadedness).

I had a psychology professor tell me it is like a low level panic attack . Regardless, it sucks.

I had to go to the eye doctor today and I was kept waiting for TWO HOURS because they kept calling another name which looks and sounds NOTHING like my actual name. Apparently someone who works in that doctor's office can't fucking read.

Idiot judge just today denied a motion for continuance we filed two weeks ago for a hearing in two days in Pennsylvania. So the attorney now has to buy a flight ticket and fly out, and i have to write a last minute brief. This was a motion, by the way, that was uncontested. And traditionally if an attorney is this far away from a defendant, this sort of motion is approved to give the attorney time to make plans for travel and such. And he has another hearing the same day here in San Antonio that I'll have to go to.

And I'm just pissed off. These things are approved 90% of the time, it was uncontested, and there is no reason whatsoever for the judge to deny it other than being an asshole.

I saw a bunch of comments on a Facebook post about how fat people are just lazy and that losing weight isn't rocket science. It's just eat fewer calories and "get off your fat ass". And it depressed me, as I eat pretty healthy (so far today I've had asparagus (with a bit of olive oil and spices), tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, corn, and tuna fish made with a little mayonnaise and a little low fat dressing on a low calorie wrap, and I walked/ran 3 miles (ran about 1/3 of it), and I work a job where I don't sit, but somehow I'm still just over 250 pounds. I hate that being fat has this whole stigma about being lazy and just sitting around stuffing your face with cakes and candy. And I wish that I could figure out how to actually lose weight.
