141. Okay, there is a small faction of us who don’t hate Maya because she’s a beautiful woman. (Clue in- most of us love Ali Larter as Niki/Jessica, and if she’s not beautiful, I don’t know what is. Monica’s pretty damn good-looking as well.) We don’t like her because the actress who portrays her is dreadful.

Ugh. TOTALLY agreed. She's gorgeous, but girl can NOT act. It's such a shame too because I would have loved nothing more than an awesome Latina character. Maya is an embarrassment.

You need to grow, like, a reading ability.

My opinion is exactly the same, so now you have to respect it, right? Aw.

You need to learn reading comprehension because the secret merely described her as a beautiful woman, while saying nothing about how her beauty was the cause of the hate.

All right, conceded. My mistake. But all the same, the hatred directed towards the character is not based on the fact that she is female, as implied by this secret.

He's pretty bad, too. Dunno, I was warming up to him during the first season, but he just kind of went downhill from there.

I find Future Peter pretty embarassing.

Dania seems to have range, but I haven't seen very much of her yet. Her role in S2 did not let her show a great range, but I think she was always pretty believable with those emotional scenes.

Yeah, I definitely didn't buy his gravelly-voiced, look-how-bitter-and-jaded-I-have-become deal. Pretty forced shit, right there.

She should take more courses in "Acting With Your Hair 101". :(

The hair was definitely the most likeable part of his character. Sad but true.

They need to kill off Peter and let the real actors lead the show... as opposed to having some boring, but pretty Keanu Reeves archtype.

I've watched Milo in a lot of things and I don't think he's a terrible actor. Peter is often a terrible character (for one thing, they cannot decide if he is going to be empath boy or a big damn hero, which makes him look like a selfish rich kid with his head screwed on wrong), and I've done my share of metaing on how and why his characterisation and arc are full of fail. Peter annoyed me consistently throughout the first half of S1 and the last half of S2. However, there have been times when I have liked him. All of these times have been when Nathan was around, go figure. (I feel terribly sorry for Nathan though having to deal with him and Angela.) But this is the fault of the writers, not Milo. (I also know that Dania can act. Also the fault of the writers that Maya sucks ass.)

But I don't hate him as much as I hate Maya, because when I complain about Peter, I get agreed with by most of the people I know, whereas when I complain about Maya I get OMGSTFU RACIST MISOGYNIST WHORE. Which is really fucking annoying and just makes me hate her more.

Well, I can't speak for other Maya supporters, but I know I only suspect a Maya basher of misogyny when the main reason for her hate seems to be "OMG! That person with a vagina dared to be attracted to one half of my OTP?! DIE SLUTTY BITCH!" Or something along those lines. I have far less of a problem with people who dislike Maya because they didn't care for her storyline or Ramirez's acting. I don't necessarily agree with them, but different strokes for different folks.

In any case, to hate a character because of comments made by a bunch of random people online is so silly I can't really even put it into words. Seems to me that if you want to be angry at/hate someone, it should be us, not her.

I found out the other day I am actually 3 degrees away from Dania Ramirez (me->Selenesue->Dania's acting coach->Dania) and I am told that she can, in fact, act. So I'm blaming the writers for the incredible fail of her characterisation. You have GOT to admit that that character would be incredibly difficult to play and play well given the atrocious backstory full of racist cliches and the incredible fail of her lines.

I know a LOT of people who hate Maya.
