i think joe was getting really desperate at the end but billy was acting as though all of this dysfunction was normal. [which lead to me believing joe just got heart thumpingly scared and desperate sometimes and yeah, that kind of emotional roller coaster can make him top OR bottom.]

the whole relationship, looked at in a platonic or angry!lovers way, is just fundamentally fucked up and completely unhealthy.

also: i love billy, i really do, but i think he was just as manipulative and controlling as joe. i think they took turns driving that bus, if you will.
