130 - As much as I loved Isaac, his death was the only one with any point to it. It was the only dignified one. I think I'd be more angry if they brought him back and took that away from him, really.

131 - Gojyo/Sanzo is awesome. Not so popular in the fandom though, from what I can tell, which was why I never got very involved.

153 - Bara isn't completely aimed at men, it just gets a larger male audience than yaoi. I personally find them too overly-muscled, and prefer a medium where the muscles aren't so heavily drawn in like that, but you're by no means weird for liking it.

OP didn't necessarily spend hundreds on a pair of glasses. Perhaps they were covered by insurance, and cosmetic glasses aren't?

Not that I approve of wearing prescriptions when you don't need them, but still. No reason to be an ass about it.

I thought Tritter went a little over the top and I didn't like him, but I saw his point about the drugs and it really upset me when the ending of that arc played out the way it did. 164. Oh ugh. That movie was my favourite in the world for years. I actually saw it 15 times in theatres (desperate fangirl lol). I've written a shitload of fanfic for it, and ALL OF IT began or featured prominently the deaths of all the lions... assuming I didn't just ignore them entirely.

I think the term that matches most closely is actually 'pederasty': an erotic/sometimes romantic/sometimes mentor-like relationship, sexually expressed or not, between an adolescent boy and an adult male outside his immediate family. 'Pedophilia' is the correct term if the relationship is sexually expressed.

111. Well, you're entitled to your opinion about his books vs. the movies, but I'll have to disagree with you on most of your points.

Ok, there's no denying his works are dense, with layers of literary, historical, and philosophical references and subtext, and it's fine if you're not in to those kinds of books, but he's hardly the only writer to do that. I personally love those kinds of books, where you have to read them multiple times to get all the messages. Also, I heatily disagree that any of the films based on his works have "the same basic story" except in the broadest of sense.

Second, I think you're confusing "porn" with "sex scene". Prose novels have sex scenes. Mainstream movies have sex scenes. The only true porn Alan Moore has ever written is "Lost Girls", and aside from some in "The black Dossier" I've never felt any of his sex scenes to be particularly gratuitous.

On a final note, I've had the great fortune to meet Alan Moore twice, and on both occasions he was an absolute delight to talk to and extremely nice-- just for an alternate perspective.
