(Anonymous) 2019-04-02 02:21 am (UTC)(link)I promise I'm not trying to snark or anything, I'm honestly confused here. If you're not keen on Jesus in anything, obviously Lion Jesus isn't going to land, but the secret to me reads like Aslan is specifically worse than other depictions of Jesus.

Aravis was in a terrible spot and I think the escape plot she came up with was the best she could do. On the other hand, I do think she's also selfish and thoughtlessly privileged and not good at seeing people who are not aristocrats as people.
I'm not mad about the whole mauling-as-teachable-moment sequence, but I can also see what Lewis was driving at, even if he didn't execute it brilliantly.
