DA - Don't know the actual answer since I stopped watching somewhere around season 3 or 4, but I'd say there's a bit of a difference in his case since he is half Stark while she is 100% Targaryen.

I didn't like her either, and less so towards the end, but her viciousness was always in the name of protection, not cruelty for the sake of cruelty. "Every time a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin" as a result of incest was seen in Aerys, Viserys, and Joffrey, but not in Rhaegar, Dany, Jon, Tommen, or Myrcella because it's just a chance, not a certainty.

Not from day one, but when she killed the woman who was gang raped because she killed Drogo - Himself an active rapist - I was like "Oh, I see where they're going with this"

as I understand it, they fucked up the landing, didn't have the skill or left it too late to really handle it properly, but I think it was always pretty clear how this was gonna end from quite early on.

Well, they aren't all crazy.

A few, to be sure. Aerion, Maelys, Aerys II were violently crazy. Baelor the Blessed was crazy in a whole different way.

Others have been quite sane. Jaehaerys I for example.

I'm curious to know exactly what you "loathed" about her from day one? In the first episode she was introduced as a young abused girl sold to a barbarian king and raped. How is it you came out of that episode disliking HER in particular?

Not a fan of the series and so haven't watched beyond the beginning but.. didn't she start burning people alive in like season 1? If you're someone inclined to torture people to death, no matter how good or bad, it doesn't seem all that surprising that you're a crazy asshole somewhere deep inside.

Wait, do you not realize that "Dany's arc was fucking squandered" represents an opinion? Is it the words themselves you don't get, or their particular order? Do you not understand that posting the video in response to the previous post is also an expression of ayrt's opinion, or at the very least, support of the opinion? Can we get past this bullshit argument that it was foreshadowed? Yeah the ring's influence of Frodo was foreshadowed all throughout the series, but Frodo's character development was WAY TOO RUSHED and it simply wasn't convincing that he'd give into the ring at the last moment.

We're supposed to believe that Frodo, whose been built up this whole time to be RESISTANT to the ring (as hobbits are), suddenly gives in at the last moment? Talk about Deus Ex Machina. It was so contrived! Hell his hobbit uncle Bilbo had the ring for SIXTY YEARS and he was able to give it up after getting shouted at a bit by Gandalf. All his addiction did after this time is make him feel a bit weird, defensive and make a scary face. So why does Frodo get so addicted after a single year?

Are we supposed to believe that a few scenes of Frodo staring wistfully at the ring is convincing enough for him to give up? At least develop his character to be more paranoid and evil like Gollum, but no, they butcher his character development by making him an IDIOT and believe Sam ate the bread. And then later when Sam returns, he's just as friendly and loving as he's always been. For crying out loud when Gollum appears at the end Frodo starts sprinting desperately to destroy the ring (despite being so exhausted he can't walk WTF), and yet despite being so dedicated he suddenly gets corrupted and evil? I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID THIS TO MY MR. FRODO.

Fucking Peter JackASS doesn't know how to write a story to save his life. The writing is so bad you'd think Gollum tripped on a rock or some bullshit and fell into Mount Doom. Tolkien will do it MUCH BETTER in the books.
