I'm 28, so I'm close to your threshhold. I am writing a doctoral thesis, have a wonderful S.O., a home, a job, and everything else an "adult" is supposed to have. I also write fanfiction. Why? Because it is my escape. Some people watch reality TV, some people read trashy roamnces, I write fanfiction. I know it's not real and can never happen (I also don't write real person fics at all; I play only in fictional worlds). it is simply a way to take a break from reality, have fun, and when I'm done, I go back to the real world.

So not every "older" person is a "crazy hag" or has "no self-esteem". Some of us just like the fun break from a streessful reality.

Trufax. I'm only in my early 20s but I had and experince in a forum where this little 12-year-old ninny decided to start some crusade against me because I was "Too old for the forum" and that people that are 18 and over should not be online at all. Her reasoning? When you hit 18, you're offically and adult and your life becomes about working 24/7.

I kinda feel bad for the kid now that I think back on it. Her idea of what growing up is like is kinda depressing.
