#116; Hey, stupid jackass. I'm 30, happily married and still writing fan-fic. Not everyone writes to _get_ a boy, not everyone ever wrote for that reason. Some people wrote because they love the characters and wanted to write out scenes they'd imagined for years. Seems to me, you need some self-esteem of your own if thats why you write. Yeah, but what do you think about reading? Watching a movie? Going to the mall to hang out?

Fanfiction's just a hobby. It's something that some people love to do, and therefore, for us, it's not a "waste" of anything, because it's something we love. What about singing your favorite songs for no reason, or just sitting down and playing the piano sometimes because you love it? People have got to have these things. ♥

(That said, it's even better for people who want to write for a living. I know so many argue that fanfiction is a waste of time and energy, etc, because they could be working on their original things, but in the words of so many writers... the important thing is to write. Just write. Doesn't matter what, you can talk to yourself, blather, it doesn't have to make sense. Just get words out and establish that writing pattern. Any kind of writing is good writing.)
