Non-sexual tropes you love

-remove ALL the weapons you are carrying
-the villain is your family member
-mind melds

De-aging, especially combined with hurt/comfort.

Kidfic (single parent/accidental baby acquisition/kid you didn't know about).

Fics that address mental issues (especially PTSD/Depression). Especially if the character tries to hide their problems because they don't want to make a big fuss.

Just hurt/comfort in general. THat is my largest tag on Ao3 for "Additional Tags" (by a lot).

dumb characters with heart that don't magically turn smart and eloquent when the time comes

Villain is like "I may be a bad guy, but I'm no Nazi/child molester/alien scum" and proceeds to fight the Nazis/child molester/alien army with the hero.

Basically anything with a well executed redemption arc

Ex-villain joins the heroes and turns out to be a bit of a dork

Hurt/comfort. I like the sexual version, but I also like the completely non-sexual version. Just give me all the comfort. All the hurt too, but I like all the comfort after.

Under "Extra hilarious because it's people I don't like" -
1) The Nostalgia Critic, in his video for "Mad Max: Fury Road", concluded that fangirls only care about Tom Hardy being a feminist who's good with dogs because he is also hot. His evidence for this was that fangirls don't go wild over Mark Ruffalo (which... isn't true?) or *drumroll* Louis C.K.!!! So that video aged like milk!

2) One of the guys behind CinemaSins (Jeremy) made a video that basically boiled down to, "Dear Marvel, no-one's gonna watch Civil War because they'll be busy watching the clearly superior Batman V Superman, duh, this is so obvious," which is just... one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever watched? Of course he's deleted it from pretty much everywhere, but this is the internet! And the internet never forgets! :D
