Once I finish eating, I need to call my ISP because my internet has been going in and out constantly lately and it's driving me nuts. I kept putting it off, hoping that whatever the issue was would magically fix itself because I just really didn't want to deal with them but it's been long enough now that I really need to.

Tonight I want to make a few secrets for next week because I finally have some! And this weekend I'm going to sleep a lot (didn't get much sleep this past week), try to do some writing, catch up on some shows, and maybe start reading something creepy in honor of Halloween.

Tomorrow I'm going to this event they always do in my neighborhood the Saturday before Halloween where they block off part of my street and the local businesses give out candy and lots of people wear costumes, etc. I'm interested in taking pictures.
Day after tomorrow I'm going to my favorite local cafe (it'll be less crowded if I wait till then).

SA as above... I hit post too soon, but wanted to add that I'm not sure that's really Lucas' problem. I think Lucas is a good ideas/concepts person (because he borrows from impeccable sources) but he's not a good writer or director and does better when he lets someone else do both those things.

Maybe it's just where I'd hung out, but in 20 or so years in various video game fandoms, I've only seen maybe 2 people get pissy about those who called themselves Final Fantasy fans or RPG fans if they dared like anything BUT the original Final Fantasy for NES (or whatever their standard of JRPG was). Fortunately, I had a smartass friend shut them down with a "you're not an authentic RPG fan if you've never played tabletop/pen and paper!"

Does Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars count? I feel like he counts in S1, where he spends at least half the season being completely awful. But IMO he’s young enough that his shitty behavior as an abused and grieving 16-year-old does not necessarily make him a bad person for life. He doesn’t kill, maim, or rape anyone, and his behavior improves pretty markedly from mid-S1 onward, so I’m inclined to say he’s trash in S1 but not trash overall.

Yeah, I'm in the MCU fandom and I've seen literally zero "You're not a real fan if you don't read the comics" type stuff, which is a relief, because I'm just not into comics and was a bit worried that would be a problem. However, the MCU fandom is so big and so fragmented that it wouldn't surprise me if some corners of it are more gatekeepery than others. *shrugs*

I can't say she's a favorite, but Sleeping Beauty is in my top favorite 5 Disney animated movies. I watched that one over and over as a kid, and I still love it.
