127. It doesn't just have to do with obscurity, I think, but flat out similarity of character design when it comes to 'knowing who Ninten is'. I mean, look at Ninten compared to Lucas. Look at Ness compared to Lucas. Both sets? The characters are clearly different.

Ninten and Ness side by side, though? The way some people draw them, could easily just be the same character drawn different ways, and Ness is from the more popular one of the two games.

who cares though? it was a part of his life that he doesn't want be part of anymore, oh well. People change. That doesn't mean you can't appreciate his music just because his priorities are different now.
As a 'fan' shouldn't you be happy for him that he's happier now?

the point is, no one cares that he is a muslim, people aren't being bigoted, they are upset because he won't make any more music that isn't religious songs for little kids. I'm not a "FAN," so there is no need to put it in uppity quote bunnies, but I can see where they are coming from, SOMEHOW

I wasn't calling anyone a bigot and i wasn't specifically calling you a fan, i was just saying that in my opinion, whether you agree with it or not is not my problem, if you love an artist's work i'd rather they be happy doing whatever they want to do. And if they're not happy in their job or with their lifestyle then so be it. That's just how i've always seen it.

103: Well, you're wrong. I don't hate Twilight with the passion of one thousand suns, and there are some things I like about it, but the things I dislike about it make it impossible for me to enjoy other than ridiculing it. I really do consider it's writing quality on the level of bad fanfiction, and I wish Bella had been hit by that car in the first book. I can honestly say I've never hated a character more than I hated her. Usually I can just ignore characters I dislike....

Kamina's death was "quiet and down to earth" because there was a two second delay between the huge explosion in which he finishes off the bad guy at the last moment, followed by the classically melodramatic slow-motion exhalation of his last breath?

Yeah, no.

Hell, Nia's is pretty overplayed, too. She turns into beautiful sparkles and is whisped away peacefully by the breeze? Are you kidding me?

Down to earth character development? With the 180 epiphanies of total amazingness?

Again... no. Gurren Lagann has a lot of subtle messages, but not only are they not at any of the places you pointed but even the subtle parts are paradoxically over-the-top.

Hell, even if your argument made any sense, I'd like to point out that Kittan got two seconds of Quiet White Screen Saying Goodbye before dying--exactly like Kamina did. The discrepancy you're complaining about doesn't exist on any level, aside from the fact that Kittan's white light was the explosion that killed him and Kamina seemed to mystically generate his own just for the dramatic effect--oh wait, that too proves you wrong.

148. I don't really understand why adults love Avatar. I watched it because some people (grown men for that matter) recommended it to me. I saw almost the entire series. I only skipped a few of the more fillery episodes in between. It's just a cliche, anime-wannabe type show. Sure the animation is beautiful, but the story and characters aren't all that special. And I didn't think it was very funny at all. The only good thing about it was Toph. She was pretty unique. But overall it was more of a chore to watch than anything else.

I watched HA! recently and I found I enjoyed it even more as an adult then I did as a kid. It was such a weird, wonderful show. I wish they'd release The Jungle story in a book format or something!
